I highly recommend Chattahoochee Stables. Love the horses (especially Caesar) and the staff are awesome. Gabe and Lauren took great care to make sure we had a terrific riding experience. My family and friends will be back!
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the scenery is great and the horses are wonderful. When near Helen or surrounding area make sure you allow time for the whole family to experience this ride. Be sure to have some cash because most are volunteers and I think you are going to want to show your appreciation and not like most places you feel you must tip for this experience you will enjoy giving a tip. As either of us never been on a horse we enjoyed it so much that we will be back.
If your coming to Helen you want to make this place your stopping grounds. Peaceful horse ride through the farm. Friendly staff and horses.
The horses are cute and that is were it stops. The owners and the help are rude. The ride is lame, You ride as a very slow group with a guide that really has no interest in his job or you. So if this sounds like ;your kind of fun go for it, but you have been warned
Friendly staff, wonderful horses, beautiful scenery. During the summer months they let you ride the horses through the river for a bit! I will definitely have to come back here again. The workers are volunteers so just a heads up to bring cash to tip your guide if you have a good time :)
Fun trail ride with well trained horse. Guide (Tommy) was knowledgeable. Beautiful property with great views and water crossing.
As I leader of a summer camp, I plan trips that my youth will enjoy and meet my budget. This attraction fits both! Visiting the stables is a requested trip each year. The children and adults are exposed to a new adventure, the ride is fun (especially if you get your feet wet in the Hooch), and the staff are knowledgeable of the area and very friendly. I've also visited to ride several times on my own time and enjoyed those trips as well. I only rate a 4.5 because there was one instance where my visit did not meet my expectations. I was bummed and determined not to visit again but after expressing my concerns with the owners, they took my thoughts to heart and improved what was lacking. I cannot help but respect that. I will be back.
We bought a package through Groupon and was very pleased with our experience. The staff and volunteers were very helpful and made sure everyone felt safe. I was a little nervous before our ride, but my horse behaved wonderfully. The scenery was beautiful! We will come back for sure!
This is a nice, easygoing, family-friendly operation. The format is a one hour ride. My posterior tells me that this is the right length for the occasional rider. Reservations are recommended (not required) because it allows them to collect the horses and have them ready. My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. (If your are interested in more variety or longer rides, check out the competition. I didn't try them).
Horrible experience that will hunt me for rest of my life. At the very beginning of the ride my horse didn't want to go through the mud and decided to go off on the dry land where he ran into a lot of tree branches with and scratched up my whole face and almost threw me off. I started bleeding and my hand was bloody because i was protecting my eyes. I yelled for the guide to stop and he pretty much told me that we had to keep moving. I ended up riding the horse with blood dripping of my face and he did nothing about it. I was scared because i didn't know if my eye got scratched or not, my whole face was burning. I started to have a panic attack and he didn't acknowledge me at all. It was nothing to him. After 45 minutes we finally got back which for me it felt like forever. I was shaking so much. The guide asked me if I wanted to take a picture with my friend - pretty much mocking me because my face was bloody and scratched up and why would i want to take a picture after I've been through hell. The employee there gave me some whips - she didn't have anything else to give me. I told her the horse didn't like the mud and avoided it stubbornly every time and she told me thats not true and the horse is experienced and that its my fault and not horses. After i walked off i heard the employee laughing and went back and asked for owners phone number she said she can't give it to me but she can have the owner call me. After being in pain and being treated like they could care less, I just left. I came home pretty shaken up and still in shock. I'm thankful my eye is fine but it could have been worse.
