Went with my 2 year old son. He is obsessed with fire trucks and seemed to have a fair amount of fun here.I think the concept of being able to play on a fire truck is unique and cool; however I feel they need a few more things to do in there to make it worth $9 a kid. In terms of things to do, there is an ambulance, fire truck, a small slide, a crawl thru space, a desk for coloring a picture, a fireman's pole, fireman play jackets and a window you can throw plastic balls in to. Oh and a fire hose. As a parent, I was over the novelty of the place in about 10 minutes-- pretty much as soon as I got a photo of him in the fire truck and in the jacket. My son seemed to like it longer than I did but also didn't have a problem with leaving after 2 hours. I cannot imagine spending any longer than 2 hours here-- there are just not enough things to do. And my son played on everything multiple times too.My advice to Firezone is to invest in a play doctors kit or two to put in the ambulance along with maybe some large soft blocks to build towers with in the play area or legos) to offer more engaging things to "do". I also think it would be cool if the fire truck had a walkie talkie built in to "radio" over to the ambulance-- that would make for much more entertaining play.
I held my 4 year old son's birthday here. I invited his class - both boys and girls - and everyone had a BLAST! The place was awesome, the firefighters were fantastic, and everything was taken care of for me! It couldn't have been more fun or easy to host a party here. Highly recommend checking it out!
Had my 4 yr olds birthday party here for the 2nd year in a row. Was scared he may not enjoy as much the second year - wrong! They ALL loved it! All guest raved about it (most parents stayed bc we are in the Lagrange Park area). Adults & kids had a blast!!! Groupon made it an irresistible price point!
I gave the visit as a gift to my friend and her 2 daughters (3 and 1 year old). The 4 of us went together and had a blast. They have a firetruck and ambulance in a warehouse like setting. They give the kids little fireman jackets. They can run around without their parents having to worry. It is only $9.00 for kids over 2 years and adults are free. Definitely a great alternative to the more expensive kid attractions in the area.
So glad Firezone moved to Schaumburg. We live in Hoffman Estates and its a few minutes ride and a must do. We had just talked about fire safety at home so the kids loved seeing the rescue and talking to real firemen.
I had my son's 4th birthday party here last weekend and it was fantastic! I opted for the 10am party with just playtime and cake. Their employees leading the party were very helpful and good with the kids. The event flowed nicely and the kids seemed to enjoy watching the demonstration of the fire equipment, sliding down the pole and saving Timmy from the fire. There was also some free time for the kids to just run around and play on the firetruck and in the ambulance. It was just enough time to play and even learn something too which was a bonus! I know of two kids who told their parents they want to have their birthday party at Firezone too! I took advantage of the Groupon for my party so I thought the value was great. They even provide nice favors (a full size coloring book and a hat). The special fire truck cake was kind of pricey but I didn't really mind since I wasn't serving food and I had the Groupon! My only recommendation would be to have some background music playing. Not super loud, just something in the background to make it more of a party atmosphere! For some reason the 18 or so kids in our party were kind of quiet to start out with ... maybe it was just because we had the 10am party!
We had an amazing experience at Fire Zone. What a great idea! The staff was wonderful (I didn't get the girl's name, but the guy was a very cute Fireman Jim) and they jumped right in with my son to play. He loved it! It's affordable, it's educational and it's wonderful that they limit it to an hour so that you are not committing to a whole weekend day. I loved that I was able to take such great pictures and what's even better is that it really has driven his play at home. As soon as we returned, he pulled out all of his firemen toys and has been playing rescue all week. Thank you for such a quality day with my son.
Our junior kindergarten young summer camp had a great time at Firezone. The staff was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Students loved the mock "rescue" scene. I think Firezone has done a great job of tailoring the visit to young children. The children were able to wear authentic fire gear made just their size and move down a child friendly fire pole. They were able to walk up a set of stairs to sit in an engine. The visit was brief and therefore students remained engaged during our time. I would certainly recommend Firezone as a great primary (preschool to grade 2) field trip!
We visited the FireZone during 'drop in' (like open gym time) while on vacation in Schaumburg. Drop-in is usually available for 1 hour per week and is posted on the website. Parents need to stay with their children and supervise. Location: The website and tripadvisor were slightly confusing. We now know that FireZone used to be in Glenview but moved a few years ago to the Schaumburg location. Drop In times are posted weekly on their website (http://www.firezonefun.com) and admission is $9/child + tax (although there appear to be groupons out there). This was a perfect play destination for our preschool children. Although it wasn't very exciting for the adults, my children loved it! There were opportunities for playing on a fire truck, play fire poles, ambulance, fire hydrant with hoses, fire ladders, a 911 Call Center, rescue house, and a fire safety demonstration done by the staff who are actual firemen and women.
I had my sons 7th birthday here and it was a nice, educating experience! The workers were extremely nice and kids had a blast!
