A very short (less than 10 min.) drive Northwest of Schulenburg, we found this church in a community that time has passed by. I've got to be honest, I was disappointed when I saw the brick exterior, which I later found doesn't do justice to magnificent furnishings found within. Although I am not Catholic, I was humbled by and proud of the works found within. I have profound respect for a community of parishoners who keep and have kept up this edifice of well over a hundred years old.
This is a gorgeous church, paintings, statutes, ceilings--unbelievable workmanship. Definitely worth the time to stop and see.
We found this almost by accident. We were looking for a place to have breakfast and this church showed up in my search results. I'm so glad that we found it, it's a few minutes outside of Schulenberg and very much worth the time. Go!! You'll be glad you did.
We enjoyed visiting this church as it had some great art work and stained glass windows. It has a small gift show. For anyone interested in older churches with some great art work and stained glass windows, this is a great place to visit.
