The Monastery is situated inside the resrt. It's an old one , at least 500 years old and keeps a relic from the Holy Cross, as well as other relics.
Most useful to sit and contemplate. The Orthodox clergy and attendants also tried very hard. It is well-kept, the spring of water always flows, and there is a write-up at the entrance in Bulgarian, English and Russian.
A fun way to intimate to the holy, a pleasant memory of those who have worked for the spiritual life.A short visit, a lighted candle for living or dead and a little water botle from the spring.
Well maintained and clean. Always feels welcome and peaceful. There is a well inside the church!
It is one of few places here worth to visit. Small, pacefull, beautiful. You can buy there some music with monks' chorals, you can left the candle for someones health or peace of the soul... Try to stop here and take deep breath of Bulgarian history
We had a peak at this old Monastery. You simply have to go. Lovely afternoon visit. The beautiful architecture added to the pleasure, but mostly the history behind it all.
We liked the beautiful architecture, and the story of the Saints and the relic of the St Valentines.
There's not a lot to see here, but it's interesting for a 15-minute visit. Better if you can read Old Slavonic...
