It was a nice easy 10 minute walk through the rainforest to the cascading waterfall. There were many different tiers your could climb to that were more difficult to get up to. we chose to stop at the first tier and swim in the clear, refreshing pool of water. Worth the trip.
I did this 'hike' while on crutches, so it's doable at any age. Only the final bit has some rocks that can get slippery. It has a T$60 entry fee. The waterfall was pleasant to dive in and fun too. swimmers be warned, it gets deep very quickly.
This waterfall is hard to get to for older people. The trail is being worked on and new building is being built. This will be fun in the future. The cost was 10 dollars to view
An easy walk just on the outskirts of Roxborough town, adjacent to the Cocoa plantation. A 15 minute easy walk takes you to a set of 3-tiered waterfalls, with the option to hike up to higher levels. The pools are deep enough to swim, however the water is quite cold. There is a small bar and snackshop at the entrance.
It is a 15 minutes walk though a lovely forest full of different types of exotic trees (silkwood, bamboo, wildplum and all the others whose names I have forgotten but will look up) with the opportunity to swimm in the pools under the cascades. It was not exactly sunny the morning I went and it had rained the night before. Still it was not too slippery to walk up to the second floor and have a different view and experience there. The older lady guide who accompanied me (but did not want to go further up) was very nice, named all the trees for me and had me brought a cocoa ball which I do not regret to have brought back!
Nice little hike to this pleasant waterfall. Great for a picnic and a dip. Best way to get there is by rental car as public transport is sparse. Shady little spot with lots of bamboo groves. Beautiful.
This was a 45 minute drive from our hotel on Turtle Beach. An easy hike to the first pool but do not stop there. To the right of the first pool is a path that goes straight up. Climb, hang on to trees and vines and move your way up. The second area is waterfalls you can stand under. Keep moving up the trail (a bit harder) to the top pool. Fantastic view and take a swim. It was just our family and two locals the day we were there. Do not miss.
Despite fears that this would be a bit of a trek and that we would need wellies, we found it relatively easy to get to the waterfall. We saw plenty of wildlife along the way and we're no experts but they were easy to spot. We only went as far as the first tier as the climb to the next level would have required sturdier footwear but this was certainly a beautiful spot and the water was refreshing but not too cold. There were lots of fish in the pool.
This was another amazing part of Tobago, we hiked to this beautiful Waterfall and were able to swim in the refreshing cool fresh pool at the bottom of the waterfall. All the guides were fun, friendly and after our hike we sat around and talked and laughed. I came away with the nut of a cocco tree, smells just like the finished chocolate bar you can buy....
The walk to the falls was really nice, and the cool waters were so pleasant! You can hike to the top pools (rope provided in places where it might be slippery) and stand right under the waterfalls. Really enjoyable thing to do on your vacation, we saw quite a few mot-mots on our way back. Just be careful, just as the big signs say - the rocks are slippery when wet! I actually fell on one of the rocks, so really exercise caution when walking on the boulders.
