We had lunch at the lake this is a very tranquil place the kids enjoyed it as so did we away from the hussle and bussle place to relax
The path goes all the ways around the lake. This is the perfect time of the year to go for a walk around the lake. I believe it is 3 miles all the way around.
Embark on a 3.5 mile loop around a reservoir. The path is paved and is often shady. You get great views of the lake and some wildlife. I had a red-tailed hawk land right above me on a limb and it allowed me to take its picture. I also saw some wild turkeys. This is a nice place for a solo walk or with your family and friends. There is no admission fee and parking is provided. It was an afternoon well spent. I got a workout, saw some sights, and talked to a few friendly walkers.
Lake Scranton is a beautiful place to take a loving walk with someone special and an awesome jogging trail for the health enthusiast. With the ambient temperatures of the Lake, the calm nature of the water and the occasional wildlife, a definitely good place to walk or run!
I have been walking Lake Scranton for years. It's a little over 3 miles all around. They have mile markers which I like. I've gone both ways around to see which direction has less inclines. About even. No dogs, bicycles and no crowds to run into. Only ducks, geese and deer. It is a very pleasant walk with the water and trees all around. It also has a bridge and a inlet with an overlook.
Scranton Lake is actually a man-created and is a source of drinking water for the city of Scranton. The 3+ mile walk around the lake is peaceful...and good exercise. Parking is a bit of a problem (but not a significant barrier). Don't bring your dog...pets are not permitted.
This was a lovely, serene, wooded walk around a lake. It was very pleasant to find such a setting (we felt as if we were in the country) near the downtown of a city. We didn't have time to walk around the entire lake; someone we passed said that there was a bear cub frolicking in one spot.
This path led us through the cool, peaceful woods, and then out to a beautiful view of the lake. We saw some type of a hawk sitting on a tree branch and then 3 baby deer as we were leaving the woods. The stone bridge is beautiful also. The 3.5 mile path gave us our exercise for the day!Bring your camera!
What a nice place for a walk. The path is very well maintained and the views were great. It was very relaxing.
Close by , easy walking path with ample parking. Nice going around the lake in all of the seasons, but fall is spectacular.
