I lived there as an eight year old child and the memories come flooding back. Stepping on acorns and dancing over the water slouches. Nothing much has changed except for the strange bronze man they've stuck on our old stoop.
Wonderful historical buildings to see. Great restaurants - try Oppie Dorp. The tree lined street is such a great walk
It's what you make of it. Enjoy it if you stroll, miss it completely if you rush by. Make sure you have some money for coffee or a slice of cake.
Interesting mix of old and new, styling Stellenbosch but busy as it's a main road.Oom Sammie interesting and quaint but slightly forced olde worldliness.
Like most of central Stellenbosch, Dorp Street has very good restaurants & cafés. They are all within a short stroll of the De Hoek Manor Guest House.
Best place to see beautiful Stellenbosch! I am being prompted by trip advisor to say what I didn't like. Dear trip advisor......I loved this town......end of story.
Absolutely the best place to be in Stellenbosch. Bright, lively, lots of good shops for everything from tourist presents to high fashion restaurants and bars to choose from
Dorp Street has many really shops and restaurants. The street is lined with beautiful old Oak Trees that provide shade and of course our famous golfer, Ernie Els, also has his Restaurant in Dorp Street.
Attractive buildings, lovely galleries, nice places to eat. Would stay here rather than in Chirch St next time
Even though the street itself is not that awesome, go have a walk in it and explore some of the cool little restaurants in it.
