Konig strasse means King Street. This was the street the King would walk on. Many shopping areas and restaurants today, the new castle and old castle as well as museums and churches. So much to see.
Ideal for a day in Stuttgart. Large selection of shops and nice stores. Some cafes and restaurants. Perfect to get last minute souvenirs and just a few minutes far away from the Stuttgart palace and garden. One minute walk from the train station Good spot for pictures. Closed on Sunday.
That's a place for you whee all the big shopping centers like Karstadt, Gallery Kaufhof and Peek&Clopenburg are located as well as stand alone brands boutiques
Lots of shops. Internal side malls places to eat and drink. Closes Sunday's as with most places but really nice to enjoy on a Saturday Morning stroll.
For all your shopping needs! Definitely check out Hugendubel if you haven't been before, it's a great big bookshop where you can just sit and read for hours! They also have a cafe. There's also heaps of street art and buskers on Koenigstrasse, nice to just stroll :)
For some reason, the Königstrasse is seen as an attraction. Yes, it is long, Schlossplatz, the square that opens out half way along, is beautiful, but as in every city at the present time, most of the shops are part of a chain which you can see in any European city. Two large new shopping malls at either end of the city have led to the closure of branches on the Königstrasse and more will probably follow. This is a negative trend in the city experience, when wide streets which are meant to be promenaded along, offer empty shop windows to the left and right. Stuttgart is becoming more beautiful in my opinion. There is a lot to see, but the Königstrasse is not the most interesting shopping mile I have seen.
Strange that there is an H&M on every other block, believe we counted at least 3; same with other chain stores, every 3 or 4 blocks, stores repeat. But, the street has everything you need for a day of shopping.
Love the streets because of the contract between new building and old building blend together. The former palace building, museum, old church blend together with new shopping mall building. Divided by a small garden. Which is very nice.
Koenigstrasse is a must in Stuttgart. It is the heart of the city with many shops and restaurants. Start from Main Station and walk for about half an hour to the other end. The streets parallel on the left and right are also pedestrians only Areas. In the middle of Koenigstraße you have the two Castles and the stock exchange
Traffic-free, city centre. Historic buildings, museums, fountains, garden, shops, cafés, restaurants. A great place to sit in an outdoor cafe with a coffee or a glass of wine and watch the world go by.Come in December and see one of the prettiest Christmas markets.
