This place is incredibly calm. A great walk and there are surprised along the way. We loved it and would do it again.
We enjoyed a couple of short and easy hikes along the Sugar House Trail and the Meadow Trail, both easy 30-minute loops. Though it is past peak foliage there were still beautiful yellow and copper beech colors and the smell of balsam everywhere. Despite Columbus Day weekend crowds in the town, there were hardly any hikers here. Wait until you see the view of the meadow!
Really goes to show you the pure beauty of the Vermont Wilderness. The paths aren't very long at all, so even if you do all of the paths, you could if you wanted to. Very quiet, very beautiful, and peaceful.
Always visit this spot when visiting Stowe. Easy hike, about 2 miles around property. Leashed dogs are welcomed. Many small bridges over babbling brooks. Will need good footwear, hiking shoes preferred, but sneakers ok. Part of the Stowe Land Trust...look up the history of the property before going.
Very nice, well maintained trail, very uncrowned, very well maintained by the Stowe land trust folks.
This is a great place to bring your dog for a good hike or snowshoe. It's not crowded, and the trails are well maintained.
The location is easy to get to if you're in Stowe. Takes about 15-20 min to get there. The trails are laid out very clearly. It's a nice walk through the woods. This is by no means a hard hike. The scenery is great beause we did it in the fall. There was a warning of bears but just be careful and keep alert. Its not like the harder mountain hikes so if you're looking for that this is not for you.
Easy paths to follow~ nicely marked; off the beaten track so not very crowded; easy to find; very wooded with streams and small areas of water.
We always make sure to snowshoe in Wiessner Woods--it's tranquil and you can be out there for hours and not meet a soul. Beautiful scenery--a real gem in Stowe when you want a break from the apres ski crowd. Not to be missed. It's special.
This is a great spot to bring dogs, snow-shoe, run around and enjoy the great outdoors. We love bringing our pup her to run around in bother winter and summer. She meets other dogs, and enjoys finding a treat in the woods (left by another dog owner).
