We really enjoyed our visit to this nature reserve. The walk took us a while and it was quite hard on the long incline homewards, but well worth it. We had a picnic and spent time looking for minke whales, porpoises and dolphins, all of which had been seen recently. There are toilets and a little cafe with friendly staff beside the car park. It's best to be prepared with walking boots as the terrain is a little rough.
The air is clean the views breathtaking you can drive to the Head and there are walkers tracks. Take a picnic sit and watch the birds listen to their noise. A beautiful region
The fantastic views. The large variety of seabirds ,the wild flowers, the butterflies some of which I believe are rare. The visitor centre is full of stories of former seamen whose stories are very interesting.
A bit confusing as we were expecting to follow a coastal path but instead spent a lot of time on a Tarmac path through farmland which unfortunately although single track allowed cars. Despite this, it was a pleasant walk albeit we saw no wildlife other than cows, sheep and seagulls!
Amazing place, loved the area, we went right up to the lighthouse, really nice views and to say it was February we got some nice clear weather
Spectacular scenery. Somewhat challenging walk, if you go the whole way, but take your time and enjoy the views.
Great walks and views / old lighthouse . would recommend seeing the cliffs from a boat . Bird life everywhere
We have been many times and it is fantastic!! Wonderful sea views, hundreds of sea birds, a magical place. If you are interested in nature and ornithology you will not be disappointed
The car park is clearly marked and easy to find. There is a small fee to park but is worth it. The views were stunning. Plan on 2-3 hours do make the loop, depending on how often you decide to stop for photographs or just take in the scenery. FYI- There is a lot of uphill, especially as you get closer to the lighthouse.
Do you like a relaxing day. Do you like to see crystal clear blue sea water, rugged coastline with rocks, grasslands, and watch sea birds. If yes, this may be a good place for your choice. Beautiful scenery around and adventurous journey on the hill if you go to see the light house. We had a relaxing day with family. We went on a sunny day. The narrow path to the hill was close to a farm, where I could see wheat and barley were cultivated. The crops were shining in golden yellow colour embracing the lovely sunshine. This was one side in my view. On the other side I found blue sea and rocks. Waves were hitting on the rocks. So amazing and wonderful view. I never knew world is this much beautiful. Amazing Scotland and amazing St abbs head. I love to see again. Definitely this is our holiday spot in the future as well. Great.
