Have been on a number of occasions and always enjoy it. Lovely woodland location, nice walks, fabulous childrens play areas and the cafe is an undiscovered gem - undiscovered because the very poor signs make it look like the boarded up railway carriage in the station yard is the cafe, when the cafe is actually in the station buildings. Well maintained and nicely laid out cafe in a number of opened out rooms in the old station house. Good choice of homemade hot and cold food, helpful friendly staff, great value prices too - this place deserves to be busier and would be if the Local Council owners got their act together and sorted out the rubbish signage! Definitely worth more than one visit.
Enjoyed this walk on a frosty January day some nice open areas for the dog to have a good run and the park kept my daughter happy for a while. Will have to revisit in the summer when the cafe and other areas are open but all in all good place to visit
This park is great, its changed a lot over the years but it good for all ages, theres the walkway itself along the old railway, the play park is large and is good for all ages. There is a café and gift shop onsite, observatory and the Ice Cream is lovely.
Fantastic fun for al the family and with three parks plenty to keep all ages happy, plenty of picnic areas too and parking, lovely afternoon of FREE fun
We went with our daughter and dog. Nice walks, play area, cafe and plenty parking. Only thing I would like to see is better sign posting and maps. We wanted to take the sculpture trail but only found 2 sculptures. Would recommend for a nice day out and will definitely return again.
Lovely walks for dogs and children, good access and nice flat paths for pram/ pushchairs, fantastic play area for children of all ages. We have visited regularly for a year now and after 2 visits the staff recognised our toddler and remembered his lunch order each time so he feels very special and welcome!
Who are these people in the council who insist on changing the names of places to meet their contrived marketing attempts. Are they even from Stockton. Castle Eden walkway - why the attempt to make it associated with Wynyard.
My husband and I visit this park on a regular basis and always enjoy our hour long walk as the pathway we take is all flat. We visit during all four seasons, and always enjoy our well deserved cuppa and scone, which are always delicious at the end of our walk. Weather permitting we sit outside the cafe and get so much pleasure from watching the different finches/tits etc. Our young grandchildren enjoy a shorter walk, with the promise of the children's play area afterwards, and of course a picnic on one of the many tables there.
First visited today as we live 20+ miles away, we will definitely visit again. Nice and clean, ample free parking, good range of play equipment, even us adults enjoyed the slides!!! Cafe and visitor centre were closed when we visited after 5pm, toilets were adequate. Worth a visit, plenty of walking routes and picnic areas, cyclists routes as well.
Clean and tidy, safe place for young children to play ages 3 to 14 should find something they enjoy and there is a cafe for the grown ups
