Made reservation for a family celebration for a Friday night and although we arrived late, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Nautically themed decor - absolutely beautiful. Menu was extensive and beautifully worded - I chose the Soup of The Day (Cream of Celeriac) followed by a Fillet Steak which was cooked to perfection. We were all very impressed. All staff and manager very attentive, polite and professional, and when our server Josh was finishing his shift he was very sweet to thank us before he left. Not overpriced as exceptional quality of food. Moved through to bar area for cocktails, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return.
family visit to this newly acquired bar/restaurant in Strathaven. The service was very slow - in fact we abandoned our plans to have desserts - no apologies or explanation re delay from staff - but of course the bar staff readily available if drinks required ! When the food eventually arrived it was good.Return visit ? no plans.
Will definitely return, good portions and great desserts. Staff very friendly personable but menu a bit limited, more veggie options would be welcome.
Visited the restaurant with family after hearing it was reopening under new management and what a difference the new owners have made! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a modern, urban feel. Although the restaurant was busy, the staff went out their way to seat us, offered to take our coats and made us feel at home. We then ordered drinks, some from the carefully chosen wine list, which arrived immediately. The food was also first class, and with speedy service. Well done to the staff at The Waterside, what a difference you have made to Strathaven. Will definitely return soon with friends so sample more of your delicious cocktails!!
Visited the restaurant on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago. The place was really busy, but having to wait over an hour for our meal, I thought was a wee bit to much. There was no bread put on the table, (which we would gladly have paid for) to nibble at while waiting. The menu was good value with plenty of choice except for the vegetarian option, which if you don't like risotto for a main meal, then you have had it. I ended up with a salad. Spoke to the waiter regarding this and he said they were looking into making more vegetarian dishes, I just hope its sometime soon.
Called in today for lunch at the recently refurbished Waterside. Very impressed with the new bar / restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and we ate from the good value fixed price menu @ £9.95 for two courses. We both enjoyed our food which was of a good quality and was well presented. Looking forward to returning one evening to try the a la carte. Definitely worth a visit and a real leap forward from the old tired Waterside.
Lovely new staff - very professional! New decor is fab and place now has a great bistro vibe. Very good and varied menu. Glad to have our 'regular' back! Mum's fish and chips was made with fresh fish and delicious. Well done to the new management.
First visit to the Waterside and will not be the last, meal was superb, great service, and very reasonable prices, the decor is really good and one can only look forward to a nice summers day on the Veranda.
Great experience had by all. Really good refurb and so much better than the other places around, food and service great. Would recommend.
Visited the Waterside for a meal with family, following a bereavement.Meal, service, etc was all very good. I was paying for the drinks, and asked for the Australian Shiraz, which we had drank , at the bar, and was fine. It was about £16 a bottle. We had two bottles. When the bill came, the wine was now £28 a bottle. When challenged, the staff, turned over the page on the wine list, and showed me a more expensive wine, which they taken upon taken upon themselves to put on the table. Very angry, but didn't want a fuss, due to our recent loss. I won't be a repeat cutomer !
