If you're there during bike week (which most likely that's why you're visiting Sturgis) don't let the crowds deter you from going to this bike week staple. There's plenty of parking & they have a massive staff to help you find a space. This place is massive!!!!!! Every type of bar food you can think of can be found here. Every room (most outdoors) offer something different. Lots of stores with great prices. Found the greatest pair of chaps here. The staff from the half naked beautiful bartenders to the kids working the hot dog stand, are friendly, helpful & there to please. Drink prices are surprisingly reasonable. Live bands all day & headliners at night.Only disappointment was that you couldn't buy any of their famous Full Throttle moonshine there. They don't have that type of liquor license & the stores in town don't carry it. Went all the way to Rapid City to get it.Seriously, bike week is not complete until you stop at the Full Throttle!!!
There really is no bad times at the Throttle. They always have things going on and the TruTv crew is there filming all the time. You see the cast and they do their jobs and it does not matter if the cameras are rolling or not they are all having fun. The best night to Visit is Thursday when Jackly is on the stage and the place is packed to the gills
During the 2014 Sturgis Bike Rally the Full Throttle Saloon had a promotion on for free beer. When I got there, none of the bartenders had any clue what was going on and proceeded to send me on a wild goose chase to find non existent Budweiser girls that were supposedly supposed to have the free beer. The prices were the most expensive at the rally and the service and experience is getting worse year after year. At Easy Riders they would honour their free drink policy twice a day so I spend my money and time eating in their really good restaurants. The experience there with their great food, bands and service just added to a great trip. Full Throttle Saloon should learn from them and I wouldn't advise anyone to go there.
Wow. It was even bigger and busier than I imagined. If you like motorcycles, Sturgis (and the Full Throttle) is the place to go.
While in Sturgis this year for the annual bike rally, I visited the famous Full Throttle Saloon. This is a must do while in the area. Even if you are not a drinker, you need to at least pay this place a visit. It's something you will never experience anywhere else.
Rode in to Sturgis Tues, visited several bars Tues night and Wed, but saved the best for last. FTS ROCKS! It's sensory overload and just a hoot. Only complaint is drink prices - you can get stronger drinks downtown for less money.
Couldn't wait to visit here after watching the show the last 2 years and never having been to Sturgis. It's just a bunch of shacks that serve alcohol. We've already made our reservations for 2015 and won't be wasting time at Full Throttle
We stopped by the Full Throttle Saloon on our cross country trip. We were familiar with it from the TV show. Now I understand that it is filmed during the craziness of bike week and that it would not be like that. However, we were only 2 of 3 people there, extremely limited drinks, no fresh fruit (I wanted a lime twist). The entertainment was a woman walking through with her donkey, sitting at the bar with it and having shots. The bartender spent more time feeding the donkey than refilling our drinks. The donkey was cute. Glad I stopped by, got my pic and have no plans to ever go back.
What a fun place to go to. I've seen it on tv but to experience it was great. Drinks were ok but the T-shirts as other FTS was expensive. Had ahold time.
I can't believe the size of this place! Even in the off season, it is amazing to see all of the stages, the burn out cages, the countless bars and where the show was filmed. I'll be glad to visit this place in the height of bike week!
