We have bought season passed for 3 years in a row and this year we are getting bored. The white slides have been the same for probably 20 years. The lazy river isn't big enough. The wave pool is extremely slippery. They really need some sort of thrill ride or this will be our last year buying season passes.
If you can imagine a place where a guy in a leather jacket chewing a toothpick flipping a coin would hang out. Its kindof like that. The go carts are 5.00 a ride. The staff was just about as thrilled to be there as we were :I
My child went to Wild Water West with a friend and they have a policy to charge you to enter, even to find a child. When I refused and entered to retrieve my child, they called the cops and said I was "disorderly" with them. This is a gross exaggeration of the truth of the situation. I entered, said "I am getting my kid" found my kid, left and was out of the gates in under 1 minute. I then left the parking lot after stopping twice to wait for families to cross. Then I am called by a sherif for disordering conduct on their property? How about kidnapping or something for them holding my minor child and not releasing him to his parents. They handled themselves and the situation extremely poorly. For an expensive location and horrible prices on food and drinks, they try to even gouge you for simply trying to pick up your child who's spent all day there. We will never again attend WWW.
I live out of state and was very excited to take my family to this waterpark but it turned out to be not all what I imaged. So my husband and I were on the lazy river with our children and I stopped at the swim up bar to buy 1 beer at the price of $7.00, I kept my card open so that my husband could swim in as you had to be over 21 to enter (which is just fine) and I rode around the river with the kids while he bought 1 beer at the price of $7.00. When he cashed out our tab he stated they didn't give him a receipt. We figured it was due to not want paper receipt in the river and thought nothing of it because we actually have faith in what seemed to be a nice family run establishment. When I got home and checked my account my card was charged double of what it should of been. After calling a couple times I finally got a response and they stated there was nothing they could do about it without a receipt. I was given no options or given a name of any other manager even though they were in the fault as I was not given a receipt. I am blown away by how they treated this situation. Other complaints are the infant/toddler pool was super slippery. My 2 year old slipped atleast 4 times (was not running at the time) and they have a smoking section very close to the small children's pirate slides and activity gym. Not healthy for your young child's lungs.
The water was very cold in most areas. And as mentioned in other reviews, one of the first things that happened was our daughter fell while entering the wave pool do to a slippery surface. The lines moved pretty fast with exception of the go carts. Go carts, mini golf, and bumper boats are all included in the entrance fee. I was surprised at how many people were drinking there. We had been to a "real" waterpark while on vacation so this one seemed really tiny and not much attractions compared to where we had been, so the kids got bored pretty quickly. It is the best thing that Sioux Falls has of this nature. One thing I saw as I exited, was the girl checking through bags at the entrance found someone with a bag of Twizzlers in their possession and confiscated it. She quickly brought it into the office where the staff devoured it and they did a happy dance that they had gotten something for free.
It cost $75 for the three of us to go for the day, but it was well worth it. The price includes everything (swimming, waterslides, go-carts, mini golf, bumper boats, beach volleyball). The wave pool could have been bigger as it was a very hot day and the pool was pretty packed.Lots of room to do everything here, and the prices at the canteens were reasonable. Beers were a little over-priced but to be expected.
We went with our 4 yr old and friends with 3yr old. the kids loved everything. There was activities for all ages.
We have gone a few times this summer and my children enjoy it. I like the lazy river and my children like the water slides and wave pool. I do wish they allowed people to bring in "healthy" food as the food being sold is not healthy. The healthiest things on the menu are frozen grapes and a chicken salad. Bags are checked at the entrance, so sneaking in healthy foods is not even an option. Believe me, they will catch you trying to bring carrots and stuff in! Some people (like me) do not eat breads, pizza, ice cream and junk food. Please add some more healthy options.
My husband and I have been here 2x this summer. Once on a hot day and once on a mild day. Both days we had a lot of fun because of the different activities. The batting cages were bad. Go carts were lots of fun. We are both 30 and had a blast great date night
We stayed all day, it was nice to be able to get wet, and have fun with our friends. Snacks/food are pretty run of the mill and high priced but overall we really enjoyed our visit here. We will be back again next time we visit Sioux Falls.
