Lived here at Burgos Circle which is the older section of BGC. Loved this place and its ambiance. Not chaotic at all.
New office buildings - food choices very diverse - lots of tier one shopping, too. I will stay in this part of Manila next time.
I take my dog here on sundays, always a buch of playmates for my dog to play with. Also a lot of restaurants to choose from
BGC was shockingly sterile, it was like it was built from a flat pack like a mcdonalds store. The place has no soul, every store was either a chain or a chain like copy. The only reason to go would be to visit The Perfect Pint a small bar that only sells local craft beer, though I believe the beers can be found elsewhere.
Yes, this area is safe and well planned - but it's not the real Manila for tourists. As the name implies, it's a microcosm of great cities from around the globe. Give it time to grow. Maybe by 2020 it will be a fascinating place that wins international awards. Right now it feels too quiet and a bit sterile. Actually, it reminds me of Canberra. Lots of straight roads, lots of pedestrian zones and a handful of boring sculptures. But just like Canberra it has some charm. You have to live here to appreciate it. Scratch the surface and you'll find excellent restaurants, plus a few cutting-edge shops. Best of all, you're welcomed like a local, even if you are a tourist. I just wish the city council would install a few street maps on the sidewalks, so the tourists know where they're going.
BGC is a far cry from old Makati and Metro Manila. Very clean and well organized. You can easily walk to anywhere.......and....feel safe. Cabs are easy to get if you need to get somewhere fast. It about 180 phps to go from BGC to the Mall of Asia should you need to. BGC had everything.....tons of restaurants.....bars....places to eat outside...and a wide variety of cuisines. Market Market is a great mall and a good place to exchange currency. You can eat high end food or sit at the Fiesta Market and have done tasty local food. Take some time and stroll High Street you will be impressed with what is there. I'm pretty sure that Rolls Royce and Lambourgini would not have showrooms there if it was not a special place.
This city is awesome. If you love shopping, you'll find luxury brands of fashion, even cars, and more. Premier mall The SM Aura is also in the city perfect for shopping. Bonifacio High-Street is a good place to chill out. Bars and restaurants can be found in the vicinity, from average to ultra chic bars. Restaurants of different cuisines are varied for you to choose from.
If you ever get sick around metro manila and looking for a first class medical treatment, the answer is St. Luke Medical Center at Bonifacio Global City. My son was in need of immediate medical attention presumably to allergic reaction to antibiotic prescribed in the States. Check the list of available physician and hospital around the area that we are staying. Found numerous medical facilities that are nearby but St Luke Medical Center stands out among one of the best. Took a taxi and it only took around 15 mins. When we arrived at the medical facilities my son and I assumed that the driver took us in a hotel. I've never seen a hospital with valet parking. As we enter the lobby there's a concierge ready to direct us to the medical attention my son required. They quickly direct us to a specialist without further delay. Based on his findings he told my son to stop the antibiotics completely and prescribed a new medication and to see his doctor once he get back to the US. After that visit within 2 days the rashes due to allergic reaction start disappearing. If you feel that you needed some medical attention I recommend to avail the services at this hospital. Guaranteed you'll have probably one of the best medical services you can find in the Philippines. The ground floor of the hospital they have different food court that are available for your liking. This is a first class establishments.
This place is not so much an attraction, but a thriving residential and commercial community. Definitely not the place to go to if you are looking for an 'Old Manila' or grassroots urban experience. However, this is the place to be if you wish to avoid overwhelming crowds and be able to walk places with traffic generally respecting your pedestrian rights. Unlike many places in Metro Manila, BGC adheres to modern standards of urban planning. There are ample sidewalks, pedestrians are given right of way, no electric wires dangerously dangle overhead, and the presence of cctv and security personnel gives a good sense of security. Shopping, dining, and entertainment choices are plentiful. Facilities are generally new or recently refurbished. Bonifacio High Street and SM Aura boast the most comfortable cinemas and mall facilities in Taguig (if not Metro Manila): the former being outdoor and pet-friendly, the latter being the more usual, but higher-end, shopping mall. There is a weekend market and many shopping, cultural, and sporting events are held in BGC throughout the year.
You can ride a bgc bus that can go around the area. The street reminds of New York because of the names 1st St, 2nd St ....and so on. You can ride a taxi, jeep or just walk. Restaurants are surrounded around the area. Market Market mall where you can buy inexpensive things. SM Aura where you can attend Mass, dine in their restaurants, or just wak around on their garden type roof top. S and r is there to buy US brand and quality products.
