Always go to Anderson park when we visit palm harbour, a nice park on the edge of lake tarpon with a large boat launch area, you can sit and watch for hours, there is plenty of BBQ areas and parking. Try the walkway where you will see gators.as with most local parks in the area never to busy
My husband and I found this park on our last evening in Tarpon Springs. We took a picnic and sat on a porch like swing watching the fishermen. The park is beautiful. The bathrooms were clean and well lit. Our visit was cut short because the park closes promptly at 8:30pm.
It has great ramps for putting in your boat. The lake is huge which makes for wonderful cruising. If you don't have a boat, then enjoy the lovely park with some of the only hills in Tarpon Springs. Bring your lunch and have a picnic at one of spots overlooking the lake.
Wonderful large community park with dog park, picnic shelters, nature trail, boat launch, free mulch site, secluded lunch tables, boardwalk. A first class park.
On Tarpon Lake, great facilities and picnic spot. There is also the town dog park for dog lovers. Boating launch available. Keep an eye out for gators. At times they can be plentiful.
This area is blessed with a broad list of state, county and local parks. A. L. Anderson does not sit along the beach, but that makes it a little warmer on those days when the Gulf breezes bring goose-bumps to those wanting a waterside picnic. Anderson is lovely.
We took our dogs here at the recommendation of our local friends. Long walks along the waters and great shade for everyone.
Anderson Park is one of two parks located along side Lake Tarpon. This park has a lot to offer and a lot to see. If you've never seen alligators in the wild, just take a seat by any of the benches located along the lake and have your camera ready. This a great place to bring the family for picnics, and birthdays. Venture around and explore one of the many trails the park has to offer.
This delightful park is on Lake Tarpon. There are picturesque, individual picnic tables at the water's edge and a large pavilion at the top of the hill for groups. Parking is excellent but it isn't really wheelchair compatible, though there are enough boardwalks for strollers, wheelchairs, and those with walking disabilities. Keep your eyes open for Pileated Woodpeckers and a great variety of water birds. Definitely a great little park
Been to A.L. Anderson Park a few times now and still loving it. Some truly great views of the lake (sometimes restricted). Plenty of shade for long walks. Brick walls everywhere. Very well thought out. You can actually have a picnic, in the shade, on the water. You could easily fall asleep at this park. I've yet to see an alligator there, though I'm sure they are around. Plenty of ospreys, eagles, and other animals. You can boat and freshwater fish (though fishing isn't allowed on the boardwalk). You have to keep in mind the park is divided. if you don't continue around over Tookes Road, you'll only see about 1/3 of the park. Lots of shelters. And, believe it or not, hills. Breezes here are wonderful. My review is in March, before everything actually greens up and flowers, so I'm really looking forward to the change. Dog park is limited and is NOT handicap accessible. Plenty of parking available. This is a great park for an event, but would advise getting reservations for shelters. I really enjoyed this park and will be going back again and again.
