This was our first trip to Heritage Park Petting Farm. It was cold out and the ground was covered in snow. They had several rabbits in the first building we walked in to pay for our visit. It was $3.00 per person. Then we walked out to the main barn with all of the animals. They had 1 cow, a few chickens, 1 goose, 2 white alpaca's, 2 donkeys, horses, several goats, 2 pigs and a few more rabbits. The barn was smaller than I expected it to be. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They let us into each stall to pet the animals. We didn't stay very long since they just had the one barn open to visit and it was cold out. We will go back when in warms up.
I'm a resident of Taylor and we are proud of our park. It's family friendly with something for everyone. Some of Taylor's historic buildings have been moved to the park. A casual stroll around the pond will take you to most of the buildings. There are many Canadian geese and mallard ducks around, so you do need to watch where you are stepping. Despite this, I enjoy watching them swim in the pond. For me, it's peaceful and relaxing. In the spring and fall we look forward to hearing and seeing both ducks and geese flying in their V shaped pattern. But for the park, we would never see them. Sit back, relax and enjoy. There is no cost for the park but one or two of the attractions have fees.
Great smooth walking path, plenty of play ground equipment of small children, lots of room for playing ball. great sceanery!
Took three granddaughters and we had a wonderful time. There were activities on the inside when you enter. The animals were well kept and plenty of stations where the children could feed and interact with animals. I could hardly get them to leave.
Going through Santa's Magic Forest will bring out the child in you. From the delightful displays, beautiful Christmas lights and heartwarming scenes; you will not regret coming here. There are some displays from the former JL Hudson's 12th floor, Winter Wonderland. Sigh...brings back so many memories. Taylor's Santa's Magic Forest will capture your heart! For a nominal fee, have your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as write a letter to Santa. This was so much fun! See you there!
Heritage Park is a great location for a BBQ, walk or a game of softball. The park is beautiful and the city did a great job putting all of the historic buildings on display. There is also a petting farm for children. Great place to spend a few hours or a whole day!
Had a couple hours to kill between dropping a family member off @ DFW and my own flight. This park is a very nice diversion, just a few minutes from the airport. Offers a fishing pond, run/walk/bike paths, sports fields & historic buildings. Just outside are a petting farm & small botanical garden. Much better than sitting around the airport for 4 hours & much prettier!
I live a few miles from this park and have to say I have grow fond of it over the past few years. It's a huge park with softball, soccer, little leauge baseball, walking paths, and a 16 acre stocked pond for catch and release fishing, no license required. The city hold festivals and many diffenert events year round at the park. There is a petting farm, gardens, a chapel, a gazzebo, historical building throught and a covered bridge. A great place to throw a line in and spend the day relaxing.
Beautiful place. Nice walking paths. Shops. Petting zoo. Lovely gardens and more. Something for all.
Lovely walking path around the lake, beautiful historic wedding chapel, or just a relaxing place to sit on a bench and take in the scenery.
