Worth an afternoon or evening. Lots of restaurants, shops, neat local wine and beer tasting places done up in the old time way!
An Antique heaven. Lot's of restaurants and country music. Old town is about 5 blocks long with ample parking.
My wife was told there was a great Farmer's Market on Sundays in Old Town. We decided to explore Old Town and visit the Farmer's Market. It was a worthwhile adventure. The friendly merchants at the Farmer's Market let us taste samples of the locally grown fruits and vegetables. We purchased various fruits, as well as humus and pita chips. Although the Old Town was somewhat touristy, it was fun walking the sidewalks with wood planks, and browsing around the shops.
There is a lot to offer in Old Town. It can take quite a bit of time to walk through and see everything. The Bank is cute, but the food is average, servers sort of rude. Lorimar Winery has a great little tasting room with live music. Lots of different things to do and worth stopping there.
lots of shops and restaurants and olive oil and wine stores. The street lights are gas and the sidewalks are wood planks.
Something is always happening in Old Town. They seem to have some kind of free event every weekend. Street Music, chalk art on the streets, blue grass bands, etc. And they have a local farmers market every Saturday unless the streets have been blocked off for something like an antique car show. It's hard to park but worth the search for a space and people are constantly coming and going.. Great authentic regional food here (tamales, crepes, tacos and more). Sellers with fruit, flowers, soaps, salsas, vegetables, pastas, breads, jewelry, etc. The store fronts and stores are fun to walk around. Kind of reminds me of how Knott's Berry Farm used to be in the 60's but without the rides. Be sure to stop by the Temecula Olive Oil company and do some tasting. You will buy, I promise. There is also the wonderful nationally recognized Penny Pickle's Museum for children. Be sure to check for their hours. They close for an hour between sessions to sanitize everything. Very reasonable admission for a 2 hour attraction. Temecula was an actual stage coach stop at one time. The locals have tried to maintain the flavor of the Old West but some new buildings have crept in. There are many excellent restaurants so one can't complain too much.
Lots of choices for food, treats & drinks. Some interesting and unique shops too. Nice place to chill out for a few hours.
Fun to walk around after visiting the wineries. We ate at the Public House that was excellent. Wish we had more time, was only there for the day
Plenty of Restaurants, Antique Shops and what you want as a traveler. Food offerings from Contemporary to Full Course of whatever you may desire. A local museum with some history about the area and antique shops with so many items that you will get tired before seeing it all. Don't miss the Olive Oil Tasting!!!
Taking a break from wine tasting in old town Temecula was a nice change of pace. There are plenty of shops, stores, restaurants and yes, wine tasting rooms. But the big attraction is people watching. Mad Madeline's is one of the best places to do it, especially from the bar stools that face the street. Some items for sale may be a little expensive in old town but still a very nice way to spend a few hours. We like Old Town Temecula. We will go back.
