There are some really nice aspects to Spanish Springs - a good variety of shops and restaurants, live music and dancing if that is your thing. One thing that can sour a person's experience though is some of these old people who have had a few too many during happy hour and then get on those golf carts, or even worse, walk out in the street right in front of your car, (that happened to us the last time we were there, and then the guy stood there in the middle of the street, yelling at us). I couldn't believe it! It would be good for some to remember that it is still a public place, with public roads, and not just there for the exclusive use of seniors who live in the Villages. Traffic laws, crosswalks, and DUI's apply to the golf cart set as well.
One of our favorite destinations for live music and dancing with a variety of great restaurants and shops all around you.
A nice place to shop and eat. Nice stores, they have music every night! A great farmers market on Thursday! Really enjoyed walking around there. Lived the Chico's store!!!
Very accessible even with golf car. Very clean and orderly. Many fine restaurants, most w outdoor seating, nice shops, lots of parking. Four kiosks on the square serve cocktails you can stroll with. Live FREE entertainment every night. Love this place!
Outstanding free entertainment every night. 2 for 1 Happy hour 5pm-7pm. (The other 2 Squares only 5-6pm) Without exception the friendliest of the 3 Squares, don't know why exactly. I go 3-4 times a week.
Spanish Springs Square is a lot of fun all the restaurants here have a really nice Happy Hour 7 Days a week with nightly entertainment with dancing on the Square
This is a great place to visit. Always something happening. Katie Belle's and Louiginos are two great restaurants in the square.
Evening entertainment is wonderful. Food and shopping are great. Wish it had a Starbucks, like Lake Sumter Landing does.
This rec center is outfitted and decorated with wonderful collections of military artifacts. The floors and chairs resemble White House decorations. They have figurines of military people in uniform. Many IKE items as well as old and new flags and pictures. If you are in the Villages you should see this during your visit.Since it is a rec center you will need to have a guest or owner pass and some rooms are not available for viewing when meetings are in process. Good to call the center and see what time is best.
The Town Square is of a nice size to accommodate the very many people who watch the bands perform and the occasional craft fairs. Surrounding the Square are restaurants and shops. Parking is easier if you travel by golf cart, but one can find car parking a block away.I visited the Market Town Square which is larger. It has some nice shops and restaurants, but I felt it looked like Hollywood set. The Brownwood Paddock square has a western theme and is not yet completed.Golf is everywhere but tennis on Har-Tru is limited to an area north of Spanish Springs in the Glenview Golf Complex and the Nancy Lopez Golf Complex. Hard courts are found in the different sections of the Villages.
