We had been guests of the One & Only Ocean Club three times in the past, long before we created IntimacyTravel.com. The Ocean Club is an exclusive resort on Paradise Island in Nassau Bahamas. The last time we were there, some years ago, we played on the Ocean Club Golf Course, which, surrounded by the multicolored blue waters of the Caribbean, is just amazing!Last year, when we were boating, writing our article, “Yacht-See,” we docked at the Paradise Island Marina. We took the opportunity to visit the Ocean Club, and were fortunate to meet John Conway, its new manager. We told him of our past visits to the Ocean Club and how much we enjoyed the resort and the golf course. We told him that we were sorry we hadn’t brought our golf clubs with us. He extended an invitation for us to play the course the next time we visited Paradise Island. This year, knowing that we were going to review Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas, we took the opportunity to email Mr. Conway to ask about playing the course. He was very gracious and set up a time for us to play during our stay at Sandals. The Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole, par 72 golf course features breathtaking seaside signature holes, greens and tees, stretching over 7,100 yards of stunning coastline. It was even more beautiful than we had remembered it and we had an exciting round of golf. It’s not surprising that the Ocean Club Golf Course was recently recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as the number 8 Resort Course in North America and the Caribbean. At IntimacyTravel you can find some great pictures and video. We are looking forward to staying and reviewing the One & Only Ocean Club in the future and playing more golf there.
expensive . Didnt stay at Atlantis paid 375.00 to play and a 15.00 hot dog with half cooked fries.Forget about that super golf course worth the price. Greens hard an fast. Perfect conditions
The course is in excellent condition. Multiple tees make it playable for all levels. Service was very good, well-organized. It's somewhat pricey, especially in the morning during peak season, but to be able to play in December along the Atlantic, I don't expect value pricing. While the course is in great shape & playable, I can't say that it's memorable. That is, I can't complain that the course is unfair or poorly designed, I just can't really remember any distinctive features (other than superb weather).
Great little golf course and good location. Easy walking distance from hotels!Excellent shape and helpful attendants!
Absolutely worth the $285 we paid. Gorgeous course in perfect condition as the LPGA tournament had recently concluded. This is the best ocean course I've ever played.
The course is in good shape with 5 sets of tee for all levels of player. GPS on all carts and offers Callaway rental clubs. Greens are true and the views are priceless. Be advised that after 1 PM rates are lower but the "inland" holes can a little less comfortable in the summer as you don't get the ocean breeze.
Let me start off this Im a 6 handicap and I enjoy playing in windy tough conditions. I have been going to the Ocean Club since 2000, in my opinion there is no where better I have played, not Doral not Pebble Beach not Chambers Bay. It is not cheap but worth every penny the twilight times save you a few bucks but the greens in the am are a thing of beauty. This course is very playable to any skill level it is for the most part WIDE WIDE open off the tee. The seaside paspalum (sp?) tends to make certain areas a touch softer at times hence we play lift clean and place here always as the LPGA did here last weekend. Greens are fast and smooth and even faster down grain. The range and practice area is very nice and generally not quiet. I like to order lunch at the clubhouse then go down to the short game area put some work in. The breakfast wrap is a thing of beauty and too me theres no better am in life then being on the range as the suns coming up with a wrap and coffee. Finish off your round here with a bite on the patio and a cold bevy makes a great day.No matter what tees your playing from you wanna use the Gold tee on #17 there is no better tee shot anywhere on the world, I actually hope I pull it a little and get to play my second from the beach. Last tip is too pay attention to the wind direction always .
Really nice course...but pricey. Great location, great weather. Not over crowded. Host to a lot of high profile events.
The views were breath taking and it was a very nice course. Not your typical island course. Oprah and Michael Jordan have homes here. Nice!
Beautiful greens and awesome staff clubhouse top notch food was great and beer was ICE COLD would go back in a heart beat
