It gives an idea of the old Australia but is a bit full of twee ice cream parlours and tea rooms. Also a bit strangely it all shuts at 4.00pm
A beautiful quaint village with buildings built in the 1890's. The village is very well maintained. Lovely restaurants and tea houses. A must see.
What gem this little village is. The various shops was so interesting and varied. we spent quite some time browsing. We loved the Lolly shop, the Fudge shop and the ABC Cheese factory and so many more. The historic building are lovely to see and we even heard bells birds at the end of the street
I really disagree with the reviews that suggest this is a friendly first class pub. It has certainly not been my experience. Though, in saying that, we have only ever been there for lunch (on about 5 occasions).I just find a lot of the staff rude to tourists. For example, I have seen them deliberately serve locals first when a tourist is next in line. I have been frowned at, served really bad drinks (lemon, lime and bitters made with just bitters and soda water) and even grunted at. I have had drinks thumped on the bar in front of me after ordering. Don't ask to pay via eftpos whatever you do. They don't have an eftpos facility and they are not interested in helping you at all.The last time we went there will be the last we ever go. I made the mistake of enquiring about lunch 3 minutes before lunch time!!! I had no idea what the bar tender was telling me but it was in a rude tone. We walked. It is ironic that a town that obviously thrives on tourism, should have a pub clearly does not want patrons outside the local area. A shame, as it is a disservice to the otherwise friendly shops in the town.
Great little authentic Australian Village. Lots of unique shops eg. cheese, games shop, lolly shop. Spend and afternoon there, buy a gift for someone at home and keep the truly Australian villages like this one open. What a treasure!
Nice little historic town on the NSW Coast. Lovely cheese and milk. Great bakery . Nice pie's and sausage rolls. Well worth visiting .
What a quaint little village this is. Lolly shop, pub, cafes, cheese shop, old style games shop, hemp & bamboo clothing shops & all without big price tags. Don't forget to have a meal at the Tilba Teapot Cafe. Small change is all you will need.
Tilba is well worth a detour from the main road to visit nice eating places and local handicrafts stores.
I really love this area. This was my third visit and I know I'll go through there again when travelling south. It's easy to spend a couple of hours browsing through all the shops and taste some cheese at the cheese factory. Very picturesque little village.
Lovely quaint authentic shops with goodies for sale. Also lovely tea room where we had Cream tea in cosy surroundings. All the buildings are well kept and very photogenic, A nice trip out for English visitor,
