Took a hike through the woods. Pretty scenery, saw birds and snakes, lots of butterflies. Great place to take little kids or just go for a nature hike.
Happily acres of land saved from developers. Several walking trails, and a nice museum. Gift shoppe has some unique and fairly priced items.
This place is gorgeous for a long stroll or trail running. Lots of covered trails, great parking area, quiet, and wildlife!
Great county park. Nature center, handicap accessible path, many different terrains of Florida. Go for a hike and see the wild orchids, Gopher tortoises, and original canal. Beautiful and relaxing-a gem of Titusville!
My eleven year old son and I went on a hike here today and enjoyed the natural beauty of the area. The large oak trees and steep banks were interesting to see. The trails are well marked and easily connect to one another. We were greeted by a very pleasant lady before we started our hike. She had us log in and offered a trail map, bug spray and pointed us in the right direction. We would have hiked longer but the quick change typical of Florida weather caught us by surprise. At the sound of thunder and feeling the cool air of a storm approaching we quickly made our way back to the parking lot. While on the trails we encountered MANY large spiders, often hanging at a level even with our heads. I would caution others to be careful of these spiders unless you want to end up wearing one on your forehead. Also, wear appropriate clothing and bug repellent because there are swarms of Mosquitos which kept us moving. Whenever we would try to stand still it became unbearable. I look forward to going back to explore the rest of the trails, but will probably wait until mosquito season isn't so strong.
Great place for the family! Take a walk or enjoy your picnic in the shade. The trails are very nicely marked and they are easy to walk. Check out the gift shop for locally handmade items and books.
Great walk through various forest areas . Probably full of wildlife that Florida residence take for granted but for a Brit full of new sights and sounds, huge butterflies , dragonflies , lizards even without seeing larger animals such as deer , Bobcats and troublesome wild hogs. Free but leave donation as well worth it
Like: lovely nature trails, good guides and information, lots of different flora and fauna - some quite expected, just off a busy highway but once you're in it's calm and peaceful.Keep in mind: this is Florida and when it's hot and muggy you may need the bug spray!
Over 4 miles of hiking trails in pristine forest of primarily oak & palm. Trails are well kept and well marked. Very little elevation difference so it is an easy hike. Very scenic and relaxing though it is just off busy highway 1. Funded by donations only, no admission charge. If you're looking for peaceful place to enjoy nature and get some exercise you will love this place.
We visited in late December. The park is pretty, but not only did we so no wildlife, we were overwhelmed with mosquitoes within minutes of setting out on the trail. If you do go, make sure to apply bug spray first.
