Loved the cleanliness of the town. Beautiful parks. Walkways, bicycle tracks, fishing, scenery, climate. Just loved it. People very friendly!,,
The area around the river has been landscaped into a parkland. The walk is very calming in the early morning or for a summer evening walk. I
This is obviously a focal point of Tumut. There are numerous well maintained parks along the river, with a good path, and plenty of parking in various areas. Plenty of activity for bird watchers. The water was flowing very quickly when we were there, looked cold and clear. There are a couple of old bridges that are good photo ops too. Best little park we went to was on the tumut Plains road, just past the bridge.
What a wonderful holiday. I've been there in winter and summer and there's totally different things to do in the different seasons. Take your fishing rods with, and a good pair of hiking shoes.
Lovely clear river with direct access from the Riverglades caravan park and a walking track alongside. Saw a lovely trout jump in the evening so worth bringing a rod.
The Tumut River fascinates with its intensity, and a walk along its shores, with the elm trees and parks, is a must in Tumut. A fine place to relax and watch the river run, and the ducks play.
Super riverside walk - playgrounds a plenty and ducks to feed. Couldn't find a platypus though! Fantastic walk after a day in the car...got to stretch the legs and let the kids run loose!
Easy to see why Tumut is often referred to as heaven on earth.Sadly though some people have no respect and leave their rubbish laying alongside the river. From what I witnessed it is the younger generation who are responsible.
Delightful walk along the banks of the Tumut River. Shady trees, well kept parkland, friendly locals.
The river walk is amazing. The park is green and clean. The river flows so quickly and is beautiful. The locals we passed were all friendly and made us feel quite at home. Birds, even trout if you look closely, magnificent old trees and you can even pat one of the race horses as you near the end of the track at the racecourse.
