Not much to say other than this place is PHENOMENAL! I lived in Italy for a number of years, and this Cathedral rivals any in Europe that I've seen. Well worth a stop!
This place is a jewel in the crown of toledo. Immaculate inside. comparable to any cathedral in europe. very humbling to be inside.
Peaceful and beautiful this Catholic Church stands for so many things that I couldn't possibly list them all here. I will say that I have walked into this church many times to just sit and look at the beautiful architecture within this facility. It's breathtaking. If you are Catholic don't miss out on the experience of mass here either and especially since we have a new Bishop I'd say go. If you are looking for a church home this church is pleasant and the people are amazingly kind, generous and welcoming.
Regardless of your Christian faith, you would most likely be in awe at the spectacular cathedral for the Diocese of Toledo, Ohio. This cathedral from the exterior is a Spanish style structure, but inside is a beautiful painted ceiling in addition to stained glass windows. The updates made during Vatican II did not diminish the grandeur of this massive building. It's worth stopping by to visit, if even for just a half an hour to visit this beautiful church. The only church/cathedral that I've been in that is more spectacular is in Montreal, Quebec. Quite a gem in the 'Old West End' of Toledo on Collingwood Blvd. built during the Depression up to WWII. You can't miss the building once you get on Collingwood Blvd, and you can park in an adjacent lot. If you go to only 3 places in Toledo, this should be your 3rd stop after our #1 Toledo Zoo and #2 Toledo Art Museum; Rosary Cathedral in Toledo is a definite #3 choice.
I grew up in Europe, and this Cathedral could hands down match itself with ANY Cathedral there! It's so beautiful (inside and out) and the acoustics in the building is spectacular. Just go and spend a couple minutes there... it's phenomenal!
This is one of the most spectacular churches you will ever enter into. Don't miss this church and all it's splendor if visiting Toledo.
It's beautiful! I lived on the block so went to school there and had my sacraments here. It is a very beautiful place full of wonderful and sad memories for me. I love it and you must go if you visit toledo.
This is a very beautiful church - inside and outside. I love big old churches with stained glass windows and beautiful painted ceilings. When we got there, doors were locked so I called the office & the woman I talked to said to enter through the door with the ramp from the parking lot so if you do go, find that door. Also there was road construction in front of the church so we ended up parking on the side street and walking to the parking lot.
Have attended many events and masses here. Always awed by the architecture and history. Masses and events seem more special here just because of the surroundings. Great acoustics...there are actually concerts held here periodically.
This church is beautiful inside. Take a tour and get the inside information. From what I remember parking is tricky though - it could have been improved - I hope so.
