This is a busy Plaza but surrounded by fantastic bars and restaurants, shops and also has great architecture and statues. I love sitting outside just watching the world go by! It is busy so be careful of the cars driving into the underground car park but don't go to valladolid and not visit this plaza.
The square is surrounded by shops and restaurants - mostly outdoor. It is a wonderful place to shop, have a drink and sit and enjoy the life and atmosphere of Valladolid around you. And in a bar at the lower end of the square where you must sample the Louise Phillipe (€10.00 a shot), what a brandy!!!!!!!!!
The Plaza Mayor of Valladolid is nice. It is not as good at the one in Madrid or Salamanca. I think the difference is that there is a road that goes around the edge of the plaza. The plaza mayor in Salamanca is inclosed. But it is really nice.
It's not the greatest plaza in Spain but still feels very Spanish and quaint surrounded by restaurants and a church it has that feeling you get when you go to those small cities in Spain
Out of all the Plaza Mayors we saw this one is in my top five. We explored in the morning so it was very peaceful. I liked the space and the surrounding buildings adds to the charm.
Although chilly still lots of people out and about. Beautiful Christmas lights and lots to do and see around the Plaza.
A visit to the main square in Valladolid is very nice. It is one of the largest I have ever seen. It used for different events throughout the year; Holy week "pasos", concerts, sand sculptures, and many more. During the warm days there are outside cafes. It is a must to see, the buildings around the main square are beatifull. Night time is also great.
The city of Valladolid is not one of Spain's major tourist destination... which makes walking and enjoying the Plaza and it;s sights a very pleasant experience. You will enjoy the plaza and it's surroundings. A most pleasant walk.
in the center of town, which itself is modern, clean and full of bars and restaurants. walk there and get a taxi back.
This was the square they all copied. Well worth a visit. Authentically old like the rest of Valladolid which was at one time Capital of united Spain. Surrounded by restaurants it is a charming place to eat al fresco. Amongst beautiful old buildings.
