its a cute little waterfall a must see I just love waterfalls and this one was nice. peaceful not a long walk to see the bottom got awesome pictures of it
Well maintained trail and overlook. Short easy walk with children. View of the falls was great. It was beautiful.
We spent over an hour here. We climbed down to the bottom of the falls and played in them. The one negative thing that makes me mad every beautiful place I go is the lack of consideration people have for nature and leave their trash laying around. Leave No Trace
As the picture below shows, the waterfall is spectacular. To get to where I took this picture, you will need to climb a bit. There is an observation platform further up the hill that does offer a bit of a few, but you really can't see much of the falls from that vantage point. We took a six year old, two people 60+ (in fairly good shape), and a large backpack stuffed with food and cameras down the trail and it took us about 15 minutes. Mind you, a lot of that was using trees and rocks as hand-holds until we reached the bottom. Once there, the bottom of the falls are fairly calm and, on the day we went, devoid of the typical crowds of people who usually overrun this sort of attraction.
At the same park at Stumphouse Tunnel. Worth the difficult walk down the side of the fall to get a lower view.
The hike down was a bit hard to find, off the beaten (paved) path. But once we got there the falls were beautiful!! One of my favorite waterfalls. We look forward to going back.
The falls were beautiful. The kids enjoyed climbing up the side. I would not recommend climbing to the bottom with little ones. Semi-difficult.
If you are unable or unwilling to climb the steep terrain to get to the bottom of the falls then you will not be able to see much. There is simply too much foliage blocking the view. Having said that, there are plenty of other views available for the nature lover and kids enjoy playing in the cool water just above the falls. I loved the trail ( not very steep ) and the covered bridge. There is a bench along the way for rest, relaxation and nature watching. I would love to come here again and make use of the picnic facilities. This is definitely a place to put on your list of day trips. This trip can be combined with Stumphouse Tunnel that is only a short walk/drive away. As a caveat, there is not a fee to enter but there is a small parking fee.
The falls were pretty crowded when we went but nice nonetheless. There was a line of people fron the overlook all the way down the walkway. There is a way to get closer to the falls but it might not be "authorized" in the strictest sense. The walkway is on the right as you look from the top but there is a small trail to the left that allows you to see the falls from the other side. I would not recommend going any further or climbing under the falls because there is a pretty serious drop and I imagine the rocks get pretty slippery.
Been going here since I was a kid when climbing to the bottom and back to the top was fun. This is one of the rare waterfalls where the parking lot takes you to the top of the falls with no easy access to the bottom. There is a fairy easy place to look over part of the falls. It's still worth the trip. Great memories for me.
