A well known state park that offers over 30 miles of clean accessible ocean beach front. Although they have a nice boardwalk that connects the East, Central and West bath houses, it has resisted installing the usual shops, restaurants and tourist traps normally found at other boardwalk locations. They offer limited fast food service at each bath house location but the bulk of the park is in its natural state. The park does offer board games during the summer including shuffle board and paddle ball. The beach area borders the Atlantic Ocean and the surf can be rough at times and caution is recommended when entering the water. During the summer season, life guards are on duty at all beaches. A very pleasant and well maintained state park frequented by many during the summer season. Highly recommended if you're looking for a relaxing day at the beach, but be sure to arrive early during the summer season.
great view while walking on the boardwalk and breathing the fresh air. Amazing listening to all the different languages spoken by the tourists
Love this place even when it's not summer! Grew up going to this beach and look forward to it every time!
Jones Beach is one of the best destinations on Long Island. No matter what the season, there is always something to enjoy here. It is one of the nicest stretches of beachfront in the world. Just walk the boardwalk and take in the frsh ocean air and you will see what I mean. A great place for families or couples to stretch out and enjoy the sand and ocean views. try it. You'll like it. I guarantee.
Didn't actually go in the water since it was pretty windy and a little cool out. It was fun sitting on the beach in the sun and people watching. Parking was easy to find as well. Would come back in the future.
Awesome- one of the best in the world! We live close by so visit often however as a tourist def best time to visit is in the warm weather. enjoy!!
The park was clean and in good condition, there is plenty to do and see besides the beach. The boardwalk was nice for an evening stroll. Aside from the apathetic attitude of the clerk at the lost and found window the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Jones Beach on holidays is a blast. Not big crowds, but lots of family fun. There's nothing like a walk on the beach when the breeze is brisk.
This park remains to be much of what Robert Moses created in 1929; a getaway for any and everyone. And, it sure can get packed with people and trash! But, still, it is a beautiful expanse of Atlantic Ocean real estate, with a boardwalk repaired after the devastation of Superstorm Sandy, a small band shell for night time concerts and theme night dancing, a nature preserve, and concession stands that will satisfy both young and older stomachs and history-buffs.
The beach is iconic and the boardwalk has plenty of activities for all. One of the best events in the spring is the air show with the Blue Angels and penny of vintage planes. Exciting and well worth going. Summer weekends can get crowded but still worth the trip.
