A wonderful garden. A walking path through several areas of flora. Water features and wonderful plantings. Good parking and a great walk.
Every time I have gone snowshoeing here I have felt like I was the only person in the world. Very peaceful and beautiful. Wish it was larger!
Very impressive rock garden and playground. If you're in need of a place for an amazing photo shoot, stop by. We were there in late October and it was nice, but I can imagine that in the summer the foliage and flowers would make the place even more beautiful.
Vail has done an excellent job with the gardens. So many flowers and well planned out. Easy to get to. Great fun for everyone
It has a very nice variety of plants and trees. Donations accepted. the gardens reflect the ecosystems of the Rocky Mountains. I think it is worth a look. Our GPS had the wrong address, it took us downtown. The garden is part of a large park along highway 70.
Do not miss these glorious gardens. So many lovely flowers and water features. Very peacuful and surrounded by the glory of the Gore Range.
I was fortunate to volunteer this past summer to help tend the gardens by planting annuals and being available to do whatever the head gardener required. If you find yourself in Colorado, Betty Ford Gardens in Vail Village is a must visit. Every year the gardens are expanded; there are different varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees to admire. The pathway takes you up to different levels by stairways. Waterfalls and small ponds greet you. The gardens are located next to the Ford music arena. So one could spend time wandering through the gardens and then enjoy the symphonies and dances throughout the summer.
We had no idea what we would find on our hike around Vail. When we stumbled upon the garden, from the outside it looked ordinary, but low and behold we were in love with the variety of plants, flowers and landscaping. The volunteers have done such beautiful work on maintaining it, educating visitors and trying to engage us to come back and help. We surely made a donation. The meditation area was my favorite by the waterfall.
Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul... This is a place where you can go, that you can feel safe and look inside yourself and discover yourself...
We walked the entire garden, and while it was a nice experience on a beautiful fall day, there was very little vegetation to view in October. I can see that a summer trip would give an abundance of flowers and a real feel for the different types of alpine ecosystems.
