If your passing through the area stop by the water front and see the murals. The art work is beautiful and tells the story/history of this area. While your here watch the river flow by and see some of the amazing tug boats navigate the mighty Miss river with there enormous loads. There is plenty of parking in the area, but I recommend parking at the boat ramp and walking the entire wall. Check out the high water marks on the river side of the wall at the boat ramp for historic flood levels recorded in Vicksburg.
A nice addition to the waterfront, which wasn't anything special. It gave us a reason to check out the area.
Anyone who likes History and Art will like these. Murals of history from around Vicksburg and Mississippi over the years.
The murals are a beautiful way that Vicksburg shows the history of the city. The backdrop to the murals is the Mississippi River. You can just drive by and look at them, or take the time, park the car and walk the murals.
I was taking a travel break and this was a great way to stretch my legs and get some exercise! Nice park, the murals were lovely too.
The artwork of the murals is very well-done and beautiful. The murals do a great job of telling the history of Vicksburg. Nice view of the river behind them.
What a nice treat along the waterfront: scenes from the history of Vicksburg for over 125 years at least. We didn't get to see them all, but the Civil War ones were truly beautiful.
We started out looking at these via foot, however, the weather turned nasty and we went by car to see the rest. Very well done and interesting stories.
Nice touch to revive the riverfront area. Adds nice colorful dimension to dreary part of town. Varied assortment of topics and artistic talent on display.
this isn't great art, but it depicts lots of aspects of Vicksburg as well as historical themes.it shows a lot of community spirit and is graffiti free.definitely worth the drive by. happy trails
