Great guide and overall good value. The river just does not offer much excitement so it seems like an expensive float. Seems better for families with kids
We did the early summer trip with dinner (on June 24) The river and the guides were very knowledgeable and I did not feel uncomfortable in any way thru the whole trip thou the river was high. The guides were very friendly and a joy to hang around with. Plus they were great cooks at the meal afterwards.
After stepping off the plane in Kalispell, the wife and I were officially on our honeymoon. We grabbed the rental car and made tracks towards the raft company. We weren't sure if we would make it on time or not because of possible delays but arrived early. We walked in and told them who we were and they were actually able to get us floating a little earlier than booked. Our tour guides name was "Peter", who was an awesome tour guide and very friendly. As we journeyed through the river he was giving us advice on basic techniques to help us navigate the river. Then, in the distance, you could see the rapids. I will make this part short and sweet, the water is extremely cold, and the rapids can be very hateful. We made it through with no one falling out and had an absolute blast. Thanks you all for a great trip!!
My wife, two boys (8 and 6) did the half day outing this summer. We could not have had a better time. Although I have been on rougher whitewater before, the setting was beautiful and our guide was fantastic. Best of all, it was the first time our kids had been whitewater rafting, and they loved it. The guide did a fantastic job of giving them chances to paddle but ensuring they were in the middle of the boat during the rapids. We checked with the company about safety before we went and were told as long as our kids wouldn't get scared, they would be fine. As we know our kids, we absolutely made the right choice in doing this -- they just laughed through the rapids and asked how much longer until the next one. We can't wait to go rafting with them again, and if you are going to Glacier (which you sould), this is a great way to spend part of all of a day (or days).
This is the second time our family has used Glacier Raft Company. We had quite a large number of people (11 adults, 1 child) for the half day trip. On the bus ride to the launch site they asked if we could split up 10 + 2 with another group, to which we responded not unless we have to (family had traveled across the US to be together). They accommodated our request, but I'm very certain our guide drew the short straw having to guide our heavy boat. The annoyance faded very quickly when he realized that we were a crazy bunch. We had a great time going down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, and navigated a few rapids (nothing too crazy at the end of July). The surrounding scenery was beautiful. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience and would highly recommend Glacier Raft Company.
We've been to Glacier on more than one occasion but this was our first trip to Glacier Raft Company. We discovered this place because one of their guides is from my neighborhood and we have a mutual friend raves about both his guiding ability and the Glacier Raft Company.Persuaded, we spent a weekend staying in one of their two-bedroom deluxe cabin rentals and enjoying the rafting and fishing guides. The cabin fit our family's needs perfectly and the view of Glacier National Park from our front porch was amazing. Comparatively speaking the prices at GRC were very competitive. The middle and north forks of the Flathead River are great sections to raft and fish. Our boys had a wonderful time and we made great memories. We will return. Often, I hope
Sam, our tour guide was very insightful and fun to sit with. The organization was organized and I would recommend them to anyone in Glacier.
My girlfriend and I did a nice, lazy scenic boat trip in september. The season was winding down but the staff still kept it fun. We had great guide and everyone else on the staff was pleasant. It was a great experience and would definitely book with them again!
This is a must do if you visit West Glacier. All of the company employees were great. Colin, our guide went out of his way to make our raft trip exciting as well as special. You can tell they all take great pride in what they do. My only complaint is about the pictures you can purchase of your raft trip. If you pre buy the package it's 39.00. If you wait to see how the pictures came out, its 49.00. I thought that was not a good business decision.
My girlfriend and I lucked out as the day of our rafting trip the weather was gorgeous! The crew was very accommodating, courteous and experienced. Our guide, James, was THE BEST!! He was personable and knowledgeable, with the most pleasant demeanor. If I were to go again I would request to be on his raft. James made our day perfect! I would recommend this company again to anyone - it was a truly enjoyable experience
