A very interesting experience, and completely unique. A bit pricey but worth it. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and thorough.

We took Amtrak's Cardinal from Huntington to White Sulphur Springs to visit the bunker at the Greenbrier Inn. The tour guide was friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. If you ever want to experience how the Cold War was underground, come here! It's worth getting extra information about the Cold War.

fascinating tour where we got a really good feel for everything although didn't get inside everywhere. Worth the relatively steep cost, and active military get in free. a full 90 minutes of walking around inside and around the various parts including decontamination showers, cafeteria, mockup bunks, blast doors, meeting rooms.

We had heard about the Bunker from the Washington Post article and have driven by White Sulphur Springs many times during our trips to WV. During one of our journeys, we stopped by the Greenbrier to check the resort out and ask if they give tours, but we just missed the last one of the day when we were there and were so impressed with the Greenbrier that we planned to come back someday. That day finally came when we found a Groupon for the resort and decided to jump on that deal (glad we did). The main reason for taking up this deal was to finally get to take the bunker tour and check out the resort at the same time.The bunker tour is really worth the expense and time, because you also get to find out some of the history of the resort by the knowledgeable guides that conduct the tours. It was really fascinating to see what was hidden in plain sight for all those years.NOTE: Bring comfortable shoes, because the tour is 1-1/2hrs long and you will be doing a lot of walking. If you take the tour during the winter months, make sure to wear a sweater/fleece due to the tour spaces and stops that might be a little cold. If you have any electronics (phone or camera) you cannot take them on the tour and will have to leave them at check-in, but you will get a receipt to get them back after the tour.

Gives you a sense of where our country was in that time period. The tour was great for older children. All adults should visit.

A very interesting piece of history created in the 1960's as a congressional bunker for a national emergency.

1This was the 2nd time I'd seen the Bunker Tour. It is absolutely amazing seeing 'the little city' behind the bid concrete doors, marked DANGER - HIGH VOLTAGE! I do recommend this informative tour! Our tour guide was fantastic! No matter ow many times you go, you walk away with lots of knowledge!

This is well worth the time and expense. Hard to believe that this space was kept a secret for all those years. Go see it if you are lucky enough to be at the Greenbrier!
