Parking is very limited - be prepared to park on the main road and walk to it. FREE ENTRYYou can (and should!) make a donation to keep it open to the public.Small but perfectly formed and would suit most ages. We went so my teenage daughter could take photos for her photography class and she got some really amazing shots of the flowers, the birds and the water area. It isn't a long walk around and there are a few benches to stop and recharge at if you have limited walking ability. Saw a few families with buggies and the terrain proved a little tough for them in places. At the entrance there is a grassed area so you could sit and have a little picnic. Take your own refreshments because it is literally just a small garden, no tea shop or anything similar..Very, very peaceful short walk in lovely surroundings.(Toilet alert! There is one but it is as clean as the last twenty people that used it! Also might be an idea to take your own toilet paper!)I really enjoyed it for what it was, would definitely pop in again especially as dogs are allowed, but obviously only on a lead.
Nice place to walk around and reflect. Park on nascot wood road. Be careful with little kids near ponds.
If the weather is good, and you're in the area, this place is worth checking out. This place is great for young kids too, as although it's a small garden, they would enjoy the woodland parts of the garden.
Nice small garden to visit, but obviously not to travel for a sake of it. Very quiet, with lots of trees. Popular with local community.
I love coming to these gardens with my baby. Hardly anyone in Watford seems to know about them, which is great as it is always quiet; in the week we're often the only ones here! There is an aviary with various birds, a pond with koi and a woodland style garden. If you are quiet you can also see wildlife such as woodpeckers. We just love walking and seeing the seasons change in peace and quiet. As far as I can tell the house doesn't open, so be aware it is more of a garden than a house and garden. There is a basic outdoor toilet also.
My 4 year old granddaughter loves this place and so do the rest of the family a little known grm in the heart of watford which looks like a private house and only has a few parking spaces but is never busy always tranquil lovely woodland walks a beautiful fish pond and aviary and huge lawn with lots of trees and plants all for free well worth a visit
I'm hesitant to share this secrete garden in watford. It is the garden you always wished you had. Beautiful flowers, a pond, a good tree walk, and the avery make this a very special place.
enjoyed a splendid day out will be back for sure four stars all the way the children were amazed how peaceful it was
A lovely place for a visit. Small and beautifully kept. Ideal for a quiet few minutes. Good parking. Could be hard to find if you are not from the area.
It's great to take children to walk around and see the nature, the flowers, the small aviary and sit down and talk and enjoy a well spent hour in what appears a secluded area but its just off a popular road and theres even parking. It's a nice hour out; you feel you're in Jane Austen country with the country house too!
