What a pleasant change from the first time we visited the Cape May Winery!! In a previous visit my husband and I were disappointed. However, the tour and tasting at Cape May Winery exceeded all our expectations and was truly the best of the Cape May wine tours. We had a very informative tour guide who poured wine for our group as we continued on the tour - second pourings were not a problem. And, at the end of our tour, we were led to a beautiful room apart from the tasting room where we got to taste port straight from the keg. There was also a bountiful cheese and fruit platter offered. Bought several bottles of wine and when the port was bottled we returned to purchase. Highly recommended.
Stopped by to check it out. Ended up hanging for a few hours. You can buy a bottle of wine & hang out while you drink it.
My group had 2 groupons. We had a blast for going there. People were friendly. we got to try 7 different kinds of wines. The owner was on hand to answer our questions. It was cold but still worth the fun we had.
My wife and I visited on a busy First Friday in November. What a beautiful facility! Jeanie was friendly and courteous throughout our $7.00/ 6 wine sampling. (We could keep the glasses too!) We really appreciated the First Friday light buffet that was provided and the 13% discount on purchases! What a great way to spend an afternoon!
Spend the money and take the tour - it is well worth it even though you will be outside for parts of the tour. Our tour guide was wonderful and because it was off season we actually had a chance to speak with the wine maker. The family that owns this winery does things right as is evidenced by the beautiful tasting room and two new storage buildings made of cedar. There weren't as many wines to taste due to the time of year and lack of availability, but we had tasty apple wines (not the wines from our youth) both cold and mulled. We also had tastings of a young immature port and a bottled port from the Estate. Our tour included a nice cheese plate and the whole experience was a great way to spend 2 hours on a cold December day.
Six tastings for six dollars…. AND you get to keep the glass. Can't beat that. My husband and I spent a rainy Saturday afternoon here. Jerry, our server was very pleasant. We ended up buying two bottles and enjoyed one of the bottles there. The fireplace is awesome. On the down side, the tastings are extremely small. I would have preferred to pay more and get a little better tasting of each wine. Even if only 4 tastings instead of 6. But still a good deal for only 6 dollars. Would definitely go back if we ever find ourselves in Cape May again.
offering very good wines, reasonably priced. Very nice tasting room, with tables and chairs, sofas and a fireplace. Friendly host. Cheeses and crackers sold at the front. tastings are $6 for 6 wines.
This is probably the best tasting wine made in NJ. This comes from a NJ native and lover of wine. The staff were funny and friendly and the outdoor fire pit and tables were a nice touch. Will definitely return next time we go to Cape May.
We highly enjoyed the wine that we tasted and purchased at Cape May Winery. The atmosphere was nice and the woman who did our tasting was very friendly.
We went to this winery because of the picture they had in the travel brochures in our room. Just as advertised, the fireplace was beautiful. We were able to get the comfy leather sofa's right in front of the fire. Apparently, a lot of people enjoy this winery as everyone came and hung out for the day. It was a really fun time.
