A great place to sit, sip a beverage of your choice and hear incredible music, watch plays. The Mack is an intimate venue, not too fancy. They provide a fabulous atmosphere to really enjoy yourself at a great price. The talent they present is out of this world. You must go.
We saw Lennie Gallant: Searching for Abegweit here and I really liked how close your were to the performance. This is an old theatre that has been converted to a table set up with a bar at the back. While arriving early will give you a better chance of get seats that naturally face the stage, the chairs aren't fixed so there is no reason to have your back to the stage. As the room is smaller than a full theatre, the volume was nice and everyone had a great view of the stage. I didn't order from the bar, but they have water there for anyone just wanting that. I would like to return for another show next time I visit PEI.
We saw Lenny Gallant there - a staple on the PEI and Canada circuit and this is a great place to see a show. Lenny was great too. 6 people to a table so you may sit with a tourist or local - which is half the fun. The bar is another matter. I was going to order a beer, figuring they had some local beer that I had been drinking all week but all I saw was Coors light and some other swill. I had a whiskey on the rocks and I swear it was about half a normal pour. Honestly, I had to let the ice melt to get enough to last me. I would have liked a second drink after the break, but the first was so disappointing I wasn't gonna waste another 10 bucks.
Small theatre with good site lines from all tables. Every show we have seen here has been wonderful.
We loved Searching for Abegweit! This multimedia show filled with music, art and great stories of PEI. Lennie Gallant was just fantastic. The Mack is such a wonderful venue - a nice intimate setting for a concert. I have become a major fan of Lennie's music after this show.
Lennie Gallant gave his usual great show. We've seen him several times & he always gives his best to the audience.
The locals know that a performance at the Mack is never disappointing and they make a point of attending a show every summer. Genuine maritime entertainment in a cozy venue. If you're visiting in August 2014 and you have an evening to spare, Searching for Abegweit won't disappoint. PEI history, art, music, and atmosphere all wrapped up into one entertaining show. (The best tables are at the back.)
I went to see Lenny Gallant's show "Searching for Abegweit" truely an amazing show. The show ,music ,stories and artwork gives you a real feel for Prince Edward Island .I think everyone who sees it leaves being a Lenny Gallant fan. The whole show from start to finish is a great and well worth seeing.
We just saw Lennie Gallant's "Searching for Abegweit" here and have enjoyed other shows here in the past. The stage is set in front of many round tables with chairs and viewers can enjoy a beverage while they watch the show. My only concern is the volume level, which is very loud, but unfortunately, that seems to be the way of all shows now.
Attended the "Abegweit" concert. Seating (and neighbors at the table) very pleasant. Perfect setting for this event.
