A pretty waterfall; in dry season it may be pretty small so don't expect water like Niagara...it's a stream falling down the rocks.
Should be in some condition to do this hike. Certain parts are demanding especially as one makes the ascent at the beginning, there after it is smooth sailing and the reward is arriving at the Falls to refresh oneself in the cool waters. Can't remember when I did this, but at that time it was completed a few times in 45 minutes each time.
Going here out of Port of Spain (POS) was absolutely beautiful riding through the mountains. If you take public transportation up there and don't intend to stay overnight, be sure to leave early enough by 3:30pm or 4pm coming back to POS or you might find yourself staying all night on the beach. We didn't follow Anna's advice about what time to leave and nearly got stuck. However, some good Trini's recognized our distress and gave us a ride back to POS. It REALLY GETS DARK.
A very beautiful waterfall in the northern range. It is an easy hike uphill for about one half mile. it is really a little retreat from the bustle of life
very nice it a small hike and the water fall on you as if was gettin a massage from a mad chineesesthe fall i s high and the water have a steady flow or u can just dip in a small pool on the run off of water
We hired a driver for the day who took us to the base of the waterfall and linked us up with a local who took us on the hike up to the falls. You should be in reasonable shape to take this trek. We went off the beaten path a few times (the plus to going with a local) and the hike got pretty intense (loved it). I believe he only charged $10 but we paid $20 because he was a great guide. We went into the water (chilly, but refreshing after the hike) at various spots - our tour guide was so gracious to take pictures of us :) Definitely worth checking out if you are the outdoorsy type.
this is great adventure giong through the woods, trees and rocky hills is so exciting listening to the birds in the woods and the water rippled down the mountain it is so cool up there when you look up the rocks the water is rolling down so beautifull i can't wait to go back to the water falls so much fun.
If you are not in shape I wouldn't recommend. I am not in shape. I'll do a couple of "Walk for a Cure" walks throughout the year, but this is nothing to compare that to. We walked for what seemed like 2 hrs (actually 40-50 mins). It was slippery and hot and I was miserable. At the end of the hike, the waterfall was not what I was hoping. I guess it just wasn't the season. The waterfall wasn't a big gushing burst of amazingness. Nevertheless, it was my first waterfall and it was still beautiful.
Clear waters that is what you will find when you take the little hike to this waterfall, and it is icy cold, I lost my voice a year since I couldn't stay out of the water - lol
This is a beautiful site, a cold cold bathe but the view is breath taking. If you hike to the site it would be worth it at the end.
