A wonderful collection of palms (although one or two unaccountably absent) an a good selection of other indigenous and exotic plants. Well done Trinidad.
this is a nice garden to visit and is close to the Hilton, joggers and families enjoy these grounds as well, visit during day for improved safety
I would definitely not pay for this entry and happy the government have this park open for free. The landscaping is kept well for most part and there is a cemetery smack in the middle of the park. There were a lot of people jogging and exercising. I see this as a nice stroll in the park with nothing much to excite you about.
Likes:What is there not to like about nature?! If you just came from the Zoo it's a great place to relax after. But if you're just going to relax...even better.Dislikes:The washroom facilities are too farA source of running water for the public is limited to a couple areasThere aren't enough huts for large groups
For something that is free, it is great to walk around in the sun, as you can shade yourself under the trees. Also get a good look of the presidential palace being renovated next door
Trinis are friendly. Tropqist Hotel is excellent as they accommodated me without a reservation and provided a great room, prices and compassion on mom's passing. This is my 2nd visit to Tropquist and 3rd to The Gingerbread House. Gingerbread House is great for single women and adults. Rosie and her family including her help is the best. You are safe with Rosie
This is a nice but very limited garden. Its positive is that it is lacated right next to the zoo (they use the same parking area). It has picnic facilities which makes it a lovely place for lunch after a zoo visit. We saw many locals having family picnics which was pleasant to see
Loved walking though these gardens as a child & it was just as wonderful as an adult who had been away a long, long, long time. Whether you are a tourist or a local these gardens are worth a visit!!!
The day I was there a large Pomerac tree was full of ripe fruit. The birds were very busy and made quite a spectacle. I nice pleasant walk.
If you want an antidote to the noise and bustle of Port of Spain, this is the perfect place for a quiet stroll, its well looked after and has some enormous trees. Its an easy walk from the centre.
