Raven's Glenn Winery is located along the Tuscarawas River near Cochocton, Ohio. There is a tasting room with a huge variety of different wines. They have a very nice restaurant featuring Italian cuisine, sandwiches and salads. They have a banquet room for private parties and weddings, plus a pergula right along the river bank for wedding ceremonies. It is very easy to get to from I-77.
Visited the winery for anniversary and sweetest day dinner. Made reservation and table was ready as soon as we arrived. Waitress was very nice and very helpful. She recommended the special that evening of shrimp scampi. I got the shrimp scampi and my wife got strip steak. Both meals were very good. We have been to Ravens Glenn before so we skipped the wine tasting when we came in. We did purchase 2 bottles of our favorite wine with our dinners. We will go back for a meal and the best part the "wine" I have read several reviews from people that have had bad service. This is unfortunate they had those experiences, however we have been to Ravens Glenn on several occasions and have never had a bad experience. Will return for sure.
We have come to Ravens GlennMany times. The wine is always amazing.. This is one of my wife and I's two favorite wineries ..lunch was very disappointing ..slow service and wrong orders kind of dampened the mood.. Perhaps growing to fast with the success of their wine.. Should back up a step and stick to what they know.
My wife and I were out for a drive on the weekend and decided to do a little more investigation into Ohio wines. We have visited several in the area and Ohio seems to have some nice wines. Raven's Glenn was good and they have a variety. while we don't like sweet wines they do have several good dry wines.
We appreciate you sharing such a special day with us and providing feedback. We truly appreciate you as a customer and value your business. Exceptional guest experience is something we take very serious and we are glad yours was just that. We hope to see you again soon! Cheers
Stopped to have our anniversary dinner there. we order the new york strip steak. I asked for it to be well done It came out red with blood on the plate. Sent it back to be cooked some more It still came out red. I left with out eating, didn't get charged for my steak, but it screwed up our evening. Thanks for nothing Raven's Glenn
This location actually pops up on Tripadvisor as both an attraction and a restaurant--so I'll sort it out and review each part separately. We've decided that wineries are nice places to visit. This one did not disappoint. As you approach the destination, you'll see a tourist attraction--a historic train depot with brightly-colored cars--on the north side of the road. It distracted us so much that we drove right past Raven's Glenn and almost didn't see it at all. I grumbled that they put that train stuff there to distract us so we would miss the winery--well, we turned around conveniently and got there, just fine but other travellers will want to know this quirk in advance. The winery grounds are nicely kept and suitable for walking around. Their interior is spacious with an extensive gift shop, backed by their restaurant and a deck overlooking their lake, and a generous wine bar. They offer 3 tasting flights. Two are wines they create with grape juice purchased from others, the third is all wines from their own grapes. We tried 2.385 of the 3 (you can sample individual wines, our choices were their own-grown varieties, the "dry" flight, and three choices from the "sweet" flight). Of the wines we tried, "Autumn Interlude" white and White Merlot (actually a rose) were favorites for both of us; I honestly admired their Syrah and Petit Sirah (varietals I usually don't prefer!) but my wife had other opinions. Regardless of personal taste, all of the wines are competently vinted and there should be something to appeal to everyone.Service at the wine bar was admirable; our sommelier said she had been on the job for four months, but she was thoroughly trained, paced our service beautifully, and was fully informed about the styles and flavors and suggested pairings for each sample. So another winery made us happy and send us away with a six-pack of our favorites!
Everyone at Raven's Glenn sincerely appreciates your taking the time to share your kind words. Your message will be passed on to the hardworking employees who deserve the credit. We can't wait to see you again!
I took a group of ladies on a bus trip to Marietta, Ohio and we stopped at Ravens Glenn for lunch, tour, tasting and a little relaxation. Some relaxed by shopping and some enjoyed a glass of wine sitting by the Muskingum River... They all purchased wine. The wines here are superb! I bought several varieties. I tend to like reds but found some amazing whites that I liked just as well as the red wines. The prices were reasonable. The scenery was great. Would have liked more of a variety for lunch... Since we were a large group I ordered the salad and soup Buffett... I loved the itallian salad and wedding soup but not sure it is to everyone's liking but I didn't hear any complaints. The tour was very interesting and informative. I hope to visit again. There was a $2 fee to taste 10 wines.. Tour was free. Great group venue!
Visiting family, we decided to "see the sights" of this rural area. It was an extremely pleasant experience! Our wine tasting experience was so much fun and informative. We are not that educated about wines, but our server was kind, friendly, and helpful (she even added in a few extras off of our list to help answer questions about comparisons). The wines are very good and very well priced. The experience was fun!
