I love this place. The daughter is knowledgeable and the father is entertaining. We came on a late Sunday afternoon and it was perfect. Few people on the patio with perfect weather conditions. The wine is delicious and totally affordable. We will continue to frequent this quaint winery.
We stopped here on our way to spend the night in New Haven based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. We drove in during the beginning of a storm, and Ms. Bommarito was alone in the tasting room. My husband does not drink wine, and he even left with a bottle. We had a great time with the FREE tasting, and of course I had to buy a glass for $5 to add to my collection. A few couples showed up as we were leaving, and I am sure they had a wonderful experience as well. Perfect beginning to a perfect weekend!
We tried about 10 different Wineries in the Hermann area over Labor day weekend and decided this was the best. Most of the wines we are bring home are from here... Do not miss this one, but be aware that they are only open on weekends...
We enjoyed the scenic drive out to this winery. We enjoy the free tastings--there were some very good dry wines available here.
We were able to meet Cathy, Head Winemaker. She was very intelligent and friendly. She spent a good amount of time with us when we were doing our wine tasting. We really enjoyed (and purchased) a bottle of the Chambourcin.
Bommarito is by far my favorite winery in Hermann. Their wine has such great personality. I love all of their wines. Their Norton, Vignole, Port... all of them are incredible. Cathy is a great vintner. I can't wait to head back and restock my wine fridge.
This is for sure a family-run operation, not a "big name" fancy place. For the tasting, it's like going into someone's kitchen....nice, cozy, friendly. We got our tour from the owner's daughter, who is one of the wine-makers. NO CHARGE for the tastings, and they gear the tastings to your preferences as you talk. Enjoyed it....bought wine to go...and got an insulated carry-bag.
There are plenty of wineries to visit in this beautiful wine region along the Missouri River. We were referred by our hostess at the B&B where we stayed. This winery is a little bit hard to find but well worth the search! After visiting some of the other wineries, we found the best wine here at Bommarito's. Very friendly and knowledgable staff, it was not only tasty but I learned a lot from the wine maker herself as she poured our tastings. Some of their best selling varietals will be bottled in the upcoming weeks and we can't wait to go back to taste them and buy more Vignoles. (So refreshing!) Have not been much of a Norton fan before but bought 2 of their Norton offerings that I think will be perfect with a steak off the grill.
Thank you for the wonderful review!. Our goal is to create a venue that is warm and inviting with wines that excel above the norm. Taking you back to the old country, leaving all your cares behind, even if its just for an afternoon. We appreciate your business, hope to see you on your next visit!!!!
This winery provides some of the best selection and consistently good wine along hwy 47. You set outside a working family winery among the the fields and may even get to visit with the owner. The wine has never disappointed me.
