Currently closed for major renovations. The building is somewhat spectacular, but closed nonetheless....
Absolutely beautiful building, the exterior renovations are just charming. I wish it were open, but I understand why it is closed. Very close to the mall Palas Iasi, it is across the courtyard.
Is one of the best cultural buldings that i have see!Is very nice that is now rebuildit and is in union with the amazing park behind. One of the best places, really love it, specially in the spring time:)
Is is the soul, it is the place where Iasi was born. A lesson of history, a thought of how Iasi was born... You will just adore it.
I have been to Iași Twice in the last year and a half and both times, the palace had been closed. It is very disappointing and not clearly communicated on various websites. Well the building is receiving so much needed renovations, the museums remain closed. The exterior of the building is stunning and a beautiful sight to see, however we were so disappointed that we were unable to go inside to see the museums
The exterior is beautiful as are the grounds. This is a must see in Iasi. Unfortunately, the reportedly gorgeous interior is still under renovation. Besides the fountains and restaurants the the Palas Mall surrounding the Palace, there are also original wooden plumbing displays and explanations of the old palace. Really interesting!
Built on the site of the former palace of Prince Moruzi, in the perimeter of the Royal Courts (attested from 1434), The Palace of Culture is an emblematic building for Iassy, the former capital of the Principality of Moldavia. The palace is flamboyant Gothic style. Today it is a museum, housing many art galleries, Hall of Voivods, Gothic Hall and Hall Henri Coanda (for the most ignorant, Henri Coanda is the inventor of the jet engine and many others). For those who come in Iasi is a must to visit this majestic palace, one of the most beautiful in Romania.
This is an amazing building and I think is the most spectacular from Romania. But they should refurbish the entire building and not only 50%.
The palace currently is closed for public due to renovation but the palace complex is connected to a mall. The back of the palace was fully renovated and have a grand stairs and small garden. Nice place to just sit down and people's watching. It is also a nice picture spot.
I saw the building in the spring of last year. Unfortunately at the time it was closed for works. I only had the chance to see it from the out side, but it is very impressive, and it is nice to see we take care of our monuments.
