If you're a fan of Sigrud Olson and his many books about the BWCAW then you owe it to yourself to visit his inspiration cabin on Burntside lake. You'll need about 2 to 2.5 hours to absorb the benefits of this tour and place in the woods. Groups are limited in size and the experience is honest in its presentation of Sigrud Olson's life and achievement. Without the effort and influence of Sigrud Olson there might not be a Boundry Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Northern Minnesota.

He is among one of the most influential conservationists to have advocated, written about and influenced policy on wilderness and parks in the United States and Canada. His life and works are an inspiration and this is THE place to learn about him. Precious little is celebrated about this man in the town where he lived - no statues, no promotion by the chamber of commerce, no museum other than this tour. The history behind this circumstance is long and complicated and controversial so if you want to see and hear the story of a famous man from this small town, take this tour. It's free!
