Very easy to get to. There are rest rooms and food available. Great for kite flying, walking, swimming.surfing............. or just relaxing.
The York Beach area of Maine is one of our favorite spots to get away for long weekends. The town is relaxing. Sit on the beach and you can watch the surfers in the ocean all day. The water is cold but the beach is long and beautiful. Also perfect for long walks.
Long sands is a beautiful, relaxing beach. You can walk along the beach while watching the waves crash on the rocks. The beach is so clean and it's great off season as well as busy season.
Long Sands (except at high tide) is a long and wide strand that feels wonderful on the bare soles, almost like moist concrete, and downright beautiful. Toward the Nubble Light end (east) we found quite a bit of beach glass as an added bonus! I wish there were bargain opportunities for parking, but frankly it's WORTH it! Bring change to feed the meter unless you find a small all-day lot.
Have and will always love Long Sands Beach. The walks in the early morning at sunrise or in the afternoon are great! Also feels great to be out there in the winter! Just bundle up!
We were there Oct. 20 , after the busy season. Parking no problem. Almost no one there. I can see that at high tide, there is little dry sand, especially on the southern section. Nice firm sand for walking.
Beautiful beach that goes on for a very long time. Restaurants and hotels along the way. Easy parking. Enjoyed the walk on the beach on a foggy October day. Loved it
We love to walk here. At low tide there can be almost 2 miles of beach. Because of "the Nubble and our beautiful Cape Neddick Lighthouse" there is an area where seaweed can collect but the town is usually very good about raking it up.
Great place to walk in off season, especially if you enjoy dogs walking on the beach. Very different and crowds in summer. Classic beach!
Loved the walk on the beach! Not too crowded, but plenty of people to see. Water was cold, but exactly what I wanted.
