Safe Well Kept Grounds ,Friendly Staff You Can't Go wrong wrong Here Rv Suppies Close By On yucaypa Blvd Quiet Camp grounds
The past few campgrounds we’ve visited were not as spacious as we prefer. They weren’t cramped like Pismo Beach, but there were still close neighbors and not much empty space around the campsite like the dogs prefer. After searching online for spacious campgrounds, I found the Yucaipa Regional Park. It’s an actual regional park in San Bernardino, but they have one side for camping in a RV or trailer, no tents allowed. The campsites are very spacious, at least 100 feet from each other, they even have some drive through sites that can fit 2 to 3 big RVs, and they allow multiple RVs or trailers on those sites. We chose a 50ft back in site, which was level and had a cement pad with grass all around us.The other great thing about this campground is that it’s only 15 miles from our RV storage lot. It was really nice to drive only 20 minutes and feel like we were somewhere far away, with great scenery and a nice camping site. It was so close that some of our friends came by for Autumn’s birthday and we bbq’d some steak and hot dogs for lunch and had a birthday cake for dessert. There’s some walking trails next to the campground along the dried up canal, with a bridge to cross over to the lakes, pool and playground. The dogs really enjoyed the walks and the cool weather. They also loved to just lay in the grass next to the rv, we had them on long leads clipped to the ground stakes. It was fairly empty since we were there from Sunday to Wednesday, and it was very quiet, especially at night. There were a few kids riding bikes and playing, some people walking dogs, but other than that, we hardly saw anyone else the few days we were there. It’s definitely a place that we’ll go back to when we want to get out of the house and not drive too much.
I love this place! The water is clear, it has the feel of both beach and park. The kids love the water slides! The only draw back is the huge hill you have to go up and down to get to the place.
Have lived in Yucaipa for 10 years, and in the area for 25 years. To some, Yucaipa may seem like the "boonies" (i.e. very rural), to others it's a terrific locale with many activities in all directions. It's nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains (tallest peak is 11,400 feet). LA is 65 minutes away (if traffic is good). Palm Springs is 45 minutes east. Joshua Tree National Park is 75 minutes east. Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake (skiing) are about an hour North. The high desert area (Mohave) is due North on the other side of the mountains. San Diego is a little less than 2 hours South. Las Vegas is a little less than 4 hours North.Yucaipa has a population of 52,000+. The SES makeup ranges from low income areas, to typical Southern California tract developments, to multimillion dollar estates. The weather is great 9 months out of the year (compared to Los Angeles, it's colder in the winter, and hotter in the summer). The town has all the usual services, seems well run, has decent restaurant choices (even Dim Sum), a very adequate community center, good park system, and youth play fields of all types (soccer, baseball, football, skate park, etc.). There are 2 very nice areas to hike and bike (equestrian also), and the trails are well maintained (the Crafton Hills/grape avenue area and Wildwood State Park). There's a Farmer's Market every Friday night from May to October. Fourth of July fireworks are displayed in the High School Stadium every year (decent display). Uptown Yucaipa has been "Gentrified" recently, complete with cute roundabouts. In May there is a notable 3 day Music and Arts Festival which is now in it's 2nd year, drawing 30,000 people to the area.
I am really reviewing this as an RV camping place, although, if I were traveling with children and young people, I would recommend it as an attraction also. The RV section is completely separate from the tent section. All of the sites are spacious; there is green grass and there are nice trees. Sites 1 - 13 are all paved pull through and all have full hookups. Between sites there are about 30 -60 feet of nice space. There is no cable TV, but antenna picks up many Los Angeles channels. Verizon signal is strong! The higher numbered sites are a wee bit closer together, but also very nice. For the very active, or for young people, you can find 3 fishing lakes, a swimming lake with water slide, a Frisbee golf course, paved roads for bicycle riding, etc. These are located in a separate section of the park, so noise is not a problem for us senior citizens. The cost is $40, but seniors get a $10 discount. You can reserve online at the regular rate, and then call the office for the discount. I imagine that summer weekends the place would be a zoo, but the RV sites are so located that this should not be a problem.
This is a great getaway in the middle of the small town of Yucaipa. Go for a picnic, fishing, playing in the mini waterpark or just sit in the sun and enjoy the quiet. There is also a wonderful campground although you have to reserve pretty far in advance.
Lots of great places to have a small or large family picnic. Park is very clean. Views of the mountains are awesome. Large amount of mature trees for shade.
Even though we live close by, this is our favorite camping spot. Lots of hiking trails. Quiet. Dog friendly. Clean. Nice r.v. section.
