We walked from Belgrade Fortress to Zemun, by the Danube river, on a great sunny day. The walk is about 10-12 km, but the views are fantastic, and there are so many people walking, that you do not feel the distance. Once you reached Zemun, climb a little bit on the top of the city, to get some great views on the Danube River, the city that lies downhill and the people who walk. It is a very nice place, the tower. It is very quiet on the top.
this place has a nice view to the old part of town. You should see it and take a pictures. Nice view to Danube and house roofs
We reached it in a difficult day when the streets were covered with snow. I believe that it worthed the try, even if it was closed. It remind us of Hungary
We have been there at the 1 of january and we didnt imagine it could be close we walk from Knez Mihailova to Gardos with visiting the all major places between that 2 point. When we arrive there we saw that it was close but even for that view is excellent you can see the beautiful river, the town which is called Zemun and a lot of places as well... It was evening time so the lights of tower makes it lovely and city was more beautiful with street lights.
Amazing view from one of the highest locations in Zemun. A very nice traditional neighborhood when you go to the tower and a very special way when you go down (ask somenone to show you the stairs). The gallery in the ground floor is not something special. The ticket you pay is a small visitor's guide, a very nice idea!
If you have visited the zemun city you should see this tower and hill. It has a panoramic view. You must vist the pub fat cat.
Very interesting landmarks with beautiful view on Danube river. Restaurants with national food, rich night life
Very nice place with a beautiful view over old Zemun and all the way to confluence of Sava and Danube. It is also called The Millennium Tower because it was built (together with 3 more towers in Austria-Hungary as border markers of their empire) to celebrate 1000 years of Hungarian presence in Europe. A little tricky to climb up for an XXL person because of the narrow stairs but its worth it. Inside are also a gallery, and a small souvenir shop. Just beside the tower (on the left) you can have a drink in a small cafe with good choice of imported beers, or eat at a restaurant (on the right) with huge terrace and continue to enjoy the view. Just behind the tower is a cemetery you should also pay a visit.
Recently restored it is the one of the best places to fill the history of Zemun, view is also impresiv.
Definitely worth the trip out to Zemun. I walked along the river and it was an intersting piece of architecture. A mix of different styles and beautifully crafted
