i have been going into the drouthy cobbler for nearly 2 year's,i find it friendly and the staff are excellent and friendly, there is a great selection of quality beer's.i also take my little girl's in on Saturday for great hot chocolate and cookies, and they think it is great.
Been here on a number of occasions with a few friends of mine and the standard has never slipped. Over 100 whiskies which I LOVE as well the largest selection of gin I have ever seen. Good selection of any alcohol and the utter mlost praise to the staff who are happy and excellent at what they do. Will always be back.
The Drouthy Cobbler is a great addition to Elgin's pubs. The events they run are always good value and well attended. Staff friendly and very adept at getting out from behind the bar and offering second, third, fourth drinks! Very good for the business and also the customers. Only issue I have is some of the drinks are pricey. A pint of Innes & Gunn is £4.30 here and only £2.65 in Wetherspoons next door. I know not comparing apples with apples but still. Other thank that I have been in during the day for coffee as well as for a beer at night and at some of the events they have held and it has been great.
Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry that our service to you was sub-standard on the evening in question. A welcoming hello and polite goodbye are simple courtesy and our team usually need no prompting there. We aim to foster an environment where everybody can feel welcome and we obviously have failed badly on this occasion. I will raise this review with the team and explore what went wrong with a view to making improvements.
Our hotel recommended this pub and although it's down an alley akin to a Harry Potter film it's a brilliant pub! Staff super friendly. The atmosphere was buzzing and lively. We managed to get a table. An excellent pub. Will definitely be coming back.
We found this place purely by chance and have returned for delicious coffee and refreshing beer during our time in Elgin. Warm welcome, comfortable surroundings and fast wifi - perfect!
By far the best bar in Elgin.Friendly staff, very nicely decorated and furnished and with a great selection of drinks. Lots of beers from the local breweries (Brewmeister, Brewdog, Deeside Speyside, Spey Valley, Windswept and quality lagers (Innis & Gunn, St Mungo's - West Brewery), whiskys and gins that you can't get elsewhere in Elgin! No loud music so you can relax and catch up with friends over a good drink.Children are also welcome during the day and it is a good place to relax with a coffee and cookie. The bar also hosts Music and comedy nights in the upstairs function room, that also has a nice bar.
Elgin is sadly lacking in decent bars, and the Drouthy Cobbler is a real gem. The environment is great - inside and outside (weather permitting). The whisky selection and cocktail menu look fantastic. However, we were overjoyed to see Schiehallion on tap - a great craft lager. If they'd served food, we'd have stayed all night, but nonetheless it was a great pub. Same again tomorrow night, please!
Staff are excellent - very welcoming and professional. Both times that I've been there it's been lively but not so lively as you can't have a conversation. Great atmosphere, spotlessly clean and attractive decor - really enjoyed it.
good beer local brews from the bottle, good atmosphere, modern finish, gins with cucumber available, coffees and tea too. Professional friendly young bar staff. OK for females and men too. Up market for elgin. cosy seating and bar games chess- etc to keep amused.
