Many other beaches are free but maybe not quite as nearby or safe. See Margaritaville beach for free if enter through Island Village area from main drag, many more things to play on for kids and teens plus but smaller beach area, but it is also FREE!
This beach is incredibly beautiful! A must do. We went in the morning to beat the crowd from the cruises and it was well worth it.
Beaches at sister hotel excellent too, whilst the beach at Tower Isle is smaller but ideal for the gorgeous beach party that Couples Tower Isle put on each week.
Crystal blue waters, hot sun, and rude, annoying Rastas trying to sell me drugs or making snide racial comments.
Came on the Carnival Breeze with another couple, did the horrible Straw Market, walked through a resort to this beach, looked like a locals beach, paid $2.00 p.p. entrance fee and immediately was approached to rent a lounge. Kept walking all the way to a small beach bar which was surprising friendly. Started drinking OverProof rum and Cokes. Wife changed and went swimming, beautiful and warm. She swam for an hour and than enjoyed some other local traditions and had a wonderful afternoon with the owners before making it back to the ship with the aid of my wife. Later that evening she filled me in on my exploits and we both laughed and reminisced.
Ocho Rios is the place to be in Jamaica you have Dunn falls !!!it's a great place to play in the water and actually walk down the waterfalls you got a love Jamaica
Ocho Rios beach is a public beach in the center of town. If you are arriving by Cruise ship this is an easy place to get to for a day of swimming. You are in the bay where the ships arrive so the view is of the marina and pier and there are 2 hotels on this area as well. There are restaurants nearby and restrooms on the beach. The water is pretty bu the beach is not very long for walking. Definitely enough for a few hours and a quick beach visit.
Very clean beach calm and relaxing no body arrasing you live the 7 mile beach in negril but you have to pay on this beach which I think it should be free
Resort is built right on the water which is nice, BUT therefore the beach is small. The lounge chairs were uncomfortable and weird!
Went on an excursion via a cruise on carnival. The excursion was booked thru vacations to go( I recommend this site if you are going on a cruise) and it was to go horseback riding on the beach! MY 2 FAVORITE THINGS!!!! the excursion was about 4 hrs which included transportation there n back, plus riding the horse then a few breaks. It was around $60 a person. I'am an expereinced rider but my boyfriend is NOT! so they but you with the horse you are compatible with and can control. oh, by the way there is a small bar that serves water, beer, alcohol and snacks, before you leave to go on horse & when you come back. BE prepared that horses do go neck deep in the water with you on their back. this was a once in a lifetime fantastic experience!
