The staff members are so much fun and give great history! I love the painted water marks that show the different heights of the different hurricanes. It is worth the climb to the top to get such a beautiful view of the Coast. Well worth the small charge they have.
The Lighthouse is in the middle of the road. But its a great sight to drive upon. We didn't climb to the top, but we did walk around and take pictures! Not the biggest or grandest lighthouse, but its still pretty!
just not worth the time for me. very brief. would have been better if there were more damage from the hurricane to be shown and the original lighthouse photo somewhere for comparison.
Biloxi Beach with its sugary powdered sand is such a place to visit . The Lighthouse is situated right in between the Visitor center and the Pier. Such a beautiful place.Very friendly folks!
Being made of cast iron, even Katrina could not wipe it out. The beautiful homes are now gone next to the beach but the light house still stands. I love it!
Amazing, historical display and located in a very convenient location. It is mind-boggling to imagine what this lighthouse has seen.
A great video is shown at the Visitors Center, across the street from the Lighthouse. It chronicles the repair of the lighthouse after the Katrina cleanup.
Lighthouse in the middle of road. Inside visitors center there's a video and pictures about the light house, its very interesting.
This is a must stop and see. Tons of history and refurbished very nicely. Presented in a proffesional manner with self guide hand held receivers
It did seem strange that you would find a lighthouse in the middle of a four lane highway. This lighthouse is the only one still standing after all the hurricanes starting from the beginning of the 1900's. One reason is that it is made out of cast iron. The visitors center does have a camera at the top and a monitor showing the traffic on the road coming from the east.
