One of those in Bath things to do, if the performances align with your fancy ( and even better if you do not have parking costs in Bath) Arrive without the car, walk, cycle, bus, train, taxi etc...
Great theatre which can be relied on th include shows/plays on their way to or from London which is brilliant for Bath tourists and those of us living in the South West.
We went to see Rebecca expecting a traditional murder mystery type performance. What we got was amazing - music, comedy, drama and more from an amazing cast. Top notch. The theatre itself is a beautiful building, harking back to its glorious past. Leg room a little tight as expected, but being such a small theatre moving around was no problem and all entrances/exits were well signed. Really well staffed and the whole system runs really smoothly. Looking to go again at the end of the month to see Joseph. Watch for the pillars though as some stall seats have restricted viewing.
Always a delight to visit the Theatre Royal. Bath is a magic place anyway and its theatre is very much part of that. The auditorium and stage are big enough to host major productions and yet you never feel distant from the action on the stage. The recent refurbishment means it has good modern facilities even though you are in a building over 200 years old. The seats are comfortable and with decent legroom. Just been to see Calamity Jane which was superb and hugely enjoyable. I am a regular visitor and happily make the 90 minute each way drive in the confidence that the journey will be well worth it.
went to see a comedy at this wonderful theatre in Bath. The theatre itself is a well maintained Victorian building full of charm and old fashioned grandeur. The ushers are helpful and the seats are comfortable, I have been here a couple of times and no matter where you are seated you have a great view of the stage as the theatre is compact and well designed. Here you can enjoy red plush seats and crystal chandeliers ,a quiet drink in the bar or delicious ice cream in the interval.
An exciting visit to the Ustinov. Our first in the studio theatre but certainly not our last. Whilst we have visited the main theatre on occasion in the past, we were very impressed by the excellent sightlines in the smaller theatre and the close relationship between the actors and the audience. Fairly priced, we hope the new studio theatre being built in our home city Portsmouth is as good.
The Theatre Royal feels like a step back in time. Its gorgeous. The auditorium is compact and has an intimate atmosphere. Its beautifully restored with a spectacular chandelier. My only criticism is the lack of leg room and the odd pillar which can be restricting .
Myself and my Mother visited Bath this weekend and went to watch the Nutcracker at the Theatre Royal. We both thought that the theatre was beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful. We were sat in the Grand Circle in Seats C1 & C2 - and the view was just perfect, we could see the stage very clearly and didn't feel like we were a great distance from the stage at all.I would most definitely recommend visiting.
Although the theatre was very comfortable and nice the Wooster and Jeeves production was awful. We had our drinks at the interval then left.
Booked seats in the Dress Circle but found the stairs difficult as there is no lift. Beautiful theatre
