This is an excellent indoor and outdoor museum for all ages. We took the grandchildren and they were kept busy for hours. I was impressed with the number of pieces of Indian beadwork that they had( more than in any other museum that I have ever been in. We happen to attend on one of their few free days.
Finally was able to visit on a family free day to check out this museum. Pretty cool, very nice inside. Lots of rooms for kids to explore and interesting dioramas with tons of information. My son loved the vehicles and the otters outside. Those lil critters have lots of character. They even have a cool local brew history room with great information. Definately will visit again.
This is a beautiful museum. It is nicely laid out with indoor and outdoor exhibits. There are activities for children and adults. Allow 2 hours.
When the grand kids come to visit the high desert museum is always a hit, we have been several a times and always great fun for all
If you are in the area, stop and explore the High Desert Museum. If you have children, al the better. There are many, many hands on things for all to do. A very informative and educational stop.
Wasn't sure what to expect when we stopped in, but immediately realized that we were going to be here for a few hours. So many interesting things for the kids to see and do. If you are in the area, this is a must stop.
Just 10 miles south of Bend. Meaningful exhibits about the Far West, both historical and of the natural environment. Very classy institution. Two to three hours. You will not be disappointed.
I had never visited the upper Western end of our country. I went to Bend, OR and visited the High Desert Museum. It was beautiful. I went in June, so the daytime weather was mild and I loved the outdoor sculptures.
We had a catered event and a private event at night and what a great smallish museum. They have a great collection of artifacts and a good desire to see them displayed in an actual setting. The raptors were fascinating.
I love this museum. We try to go everytime in Bend. It is great for kids and adults alike. Informational re: Oregon and it's history. There is an actual wood mill, an exibit re: Foresters, Firefighters, covered wagon exibit, and there are some small animals.
