This was our third trip to lemon creek and we were glad to find them relatively uncrowded on the 4th of July. The young woman who did our tasting was pleasant and knowledgeable and we went away with an excellent cherry wine and their silver lake Sauterne. We, too, had a rough experience on a past visit when the tasting room was crowded with "bus people," and we turned away without tasting or buying. We've had similar experiences at other wineries--something to be aware of when touring the area.
We are locals and have friends visit us from all over the country - we take them on the Southwest Michigan Wine Trail - ALL of our guests were very happy with the experience - the staff provided a lot of useful information on each wine selection. After our tasting we had a picnic a the vineyard and the staff supplied us with glasses for the wine we purchased and chose to have with lunch. Try it - you'll enjoy it!
Great winery, nice friendly knowledgable staff...Wine was delicious so we bought a few bottles. We will be back.
Tasted many great tasting wines. Friendly atmosphere. There is fresh fruit available such a peaches and prune plums. Both tasted wonderful.
I went to Lemon Creek for the 2nd time this past weekend. Again, it was wonderful! Nice people, great wine, great land and even a cute little store. I will return again and again! Very reasonable prices! $5 for 5 tastes. And you keep the glass! And really they are nice sturdy glasses. The bottles of wine are good prices as well.
Relaxed atmosphere. Wasn't rushed when taking our time to decide. Better red blends than it's neighbor.
We visited with 2 other couples over Labor Day weekend and all of us thought that the establishment was great. Wonderful wine, professional, knowledgeable & fun staff who really knew the wines and could recommend the perfect type of wine each person was in search of. We did not feel "pressured" to hurry up and finish our tasting as we had in other wine tasting rooms. All of us made purchases and look forward to making another trip back next year!
This past summer, my date and I chose a day, to visit numerous wineries in Berrien county, I have been to numerous local wineries, over the years, but only one per day. I had no idea how much wine a person is offered at each "tasting" and how much it could cost. At each winery, I insisted I ONLY wanted to taste ONE wine. (You could get rather drunk, in no time at all, if you "tasted" as much wine as each winery offered, (strongly suggested.) Lemon Creek Winery is nice, (and I do love one of their white wines) although I prefer a winery with a restaurant / food and also an actual tour of the grounds and vineyard.
This was a nice sized tasting room. We almost had to beg the guy doing the tasting to notice us. There were only about 4 other people in the winery at the time. We were given no information about the wines. The guy seemed to want to get thru the tasting & get you out..The Cab Franc and Lerner wines were decent.
Family was in town and so we thought we'd hit some of the wineries in the area. Lemon Creek was a fun and busy place. The staff makes it so much better as they really know their wines and they're fun people. There was no pressure to purchase any of the wines we tasted, though we did walk out of there with three bottles. They have a produce market and since it was fall they had a lot of fall produce for sale. We also noticed that they were giving rides through the grape vineyard. Lots of fun, great wine, worth the stop.
