Excelent place, you cant leave bocas without going here. its paradise, water is clear and waves are soft, excelent place to enjoy the beach
Red Frogs beach is nice. It was pretty calm when we visited although other travelers have reported that the waters can be rough.
I loved Coral Key so much I had to bring my college students on a field trip to Bocas del Toro so they would the chance to take a tour there. The fish are so amazing and the water is so clear you don't have to dive to see them. The weather is so generous and the locals are warm and friendly. I recommend captain Emilio who took us there from Almiramente to Colon island and then to Coral Key. He's such a nice person. I'm looking forward to visiting again, this time I'm going to bring my son. We're not bold divers but the sea here is so friendly that we can go snorkeling without any worries.
We spent the day at Red Frog Beach and it was worth it! The waves were small enough we could get far out into the water and the sands are beautiful. The bar was run by friendly staff.
We stayed on the island for a week at red frog resort villas. The beaches are beautiful with big waves for jumping, surfing and boogie boarding. Nice fine sand. Punta lava restaurant and Palmar restaurant on the beach. Both just ok. Bring some drink and snacks and eat in Bocas town. We hired awesome guide Luis to take is from here to all kinds of must see spots for 2 days like dolphin bay, snorkel crawl cay, zappatillas islands. Four of us on the boat with our guide and nobody else for only $130 a day. Email luisgrimas@hotmail.com.
Try and hire a private boat rather than go as part of a tourist group and just potter around the area slowly. We enjoyed it so much more than we would have done on a packed panga
Excellent snorkeling in the shallows with more different colors of coral close together than I've ever seen. Abundant fish life, too.
My friend and I traveled here on a whim during our stay in Bocas. Apparently it was low tourist season because there was hardly anyone on the island. The water was crystal clear, the weather was perfect and I felt that indeed, I was in paradise.
An Island with two great beaches, a cave, an indigenous community, boat dock, restaurant and trails (a big zip line also). We have a difficult time disliking thing in this archipelago.
Very cool place to visit. Saw lots of Capuchin monkeys, a few sloths, iguanas, parrots and, of course, the red frogs! Visit Red Frog Beach and Polo Beach.
